As RedState previously reported, the "60 Minutes" interview with Vice President Kamala Harris dropped Monday night after cringe video teasers were released earlier in the day. Surprisingly, it was fairly hard-hitting, with the interviewer, CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker, not letting Harris off the hook so easily when she did her typical dodge-and-weave act.
For instance, when Whitaker asked her why Biden-Harris didn't embrace a "crackdown on asylum seekers" in 2021 instead of waiting until a presidential election year to do so, Harris tried to blame Congress and her opponent, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump. Whitaker continued to press her on the point, though, noting that "there was an historic flood of undocumented immigrants coming across the border the first three years of your administration."
Harris' only response was to claim without evidence that the Biden-Harris administration had been "offering solutions... from day one."

Something else about the interview that is getting a lot of attention is the amount of edits made to it. My colleague Nick Arama reported that one intriguing edit was made about halfway into Harris' answer to the question of why she'd flip-flopped on so many issues. For those who missed the clip, here it is:
3 jump cut edits from .42 to .47 https://t.co/IMvN7r0jEb

"Does anyone have a count on the number of jump cut edits during that 60 Minutes interview with Harris?" another Twitter/X user asked.
Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz also pointed out that the entire interview was "heavily edited":
The Harris interview is heavily edited; obvious from the start. She just gets 2 sentences at a time. I think it's a mistake - run the whole thing - but that's not the 60 Minutes style.

Even fans of Kamala Harris noticed, though obviously they had a different take on how she did:
The 60 minutes interview is going well but the editing is very interesting to say the least. lol

They’re cutting up the answers to the questions like CRAZY. I get we gotta get a commercial break in and get outta here by 9 PM but damn.
As RedState readers will recall, "60 Minutes" is notorious for editing clips in ways they think will either make their interview subject look good or bad.
They did it with both Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in attempts to make them look bad, and they did it with Harris this time around, perhaps hoping to make her not come off quite as vapid and vacuous as she normally does.
It didn't work. A lot of people, even those who are in her corner, noticed.
In a way, it's like a dam breaking, with the masses finally getting to see the empty suit Kamala Harris we've been warning them about for years now. It's amazing what a little sunlight can do when the media actually does its job, isn't it?
