Watch: Kamala Harris' Attempt at Explaining How Electricity Works Goes Downhill Fast

While our resident Vice President has become infamous for her word salads, where things she says make absolutely no sense to most people listening – including herself – Kamala Harris has also become known for explaining things in ways that are so simplistic and child-like that you almost feel insulted when you listen to her.

The latest example of the latter happened Thursday as Harris was speaking in Tonopah, Arizona, at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new transmission line.

She was there to promote President Joe Biden’s bloated, expensive clean energy agenda, and things started off rather mildly, according to the Arizona Republic:

“The Ten West Link transmission line will stretch from Arizona to California. It will deliver electricity from wind and solar farms out here in the desert, to big cities like Phoenix and Los Angeles and San Diego, and to rural communities like Blythe and … Quartzsite,” Harris said. “This electricity will be clean electricity. Solar panels and wind turbines do not produce toxic fumes that poison our air or dangerous chemicals that poison our water.

“And the energy delivered by these lines will not just be cleaner, it will also be cheaper. On average, you see, clean electricity is less expensive than electricity generated from traditional sources,” she said.

Except when Harris started to explain how electricity works, her explainer went downhill fast:

Well, let’s think about it. Today, America has more than half a million miles of transmission lines, enough to wrap around the globe 24 times. These lines connect the power plants, where electricity is created, to homes and businesses and schools and hospitals across our nation.

Think about it: Every time you turn on a light or charge your laptop or plug in your air conditioner or put leftovers in the fridge, you rely on the power delivered by our nation’s network of transmission lines.

Watch:

Oh, really? Who knew that every time you turned on a computer or switched a light on or off or popped something in the microwave, you were using electricity?

I don’t know if the child-like tone and the oversimplification of the processes she tries to break down are supposed to be for the people sitting way back in the cheap seats who might be 50 shades of clueless on such matters; but to many people, her way of explaining things to her audiences makes her sound like she is just now learning this information herself or wants to dumb it down so everyone can get it.

Or both.

Either way, it’s not a good look.

In any event, though we can’t count on her for much else we can certainly rely on Kamala Harris to provide us with some much-needed comic relief. So, she’s at least got that going for her headed into 2024, I guess.
