Sen. John Kennedy Campaigns for Herschel Walker as Only He Can

We’ve written before about Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) and how he is an absolute national treasure.

And on Sunday, he proved it all over again when he went to Georgia to stump for Georgia Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker, who is locked in a close race with Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock ahead of the Tuesday runoff in the remaining Senate race yet to be decided.

During his remarks, Kennedy painted Democrats in Washington, D.C. as “woke” out-of-touch elitists who think they are “smarter and more virtuous than the American people” – “high-IQ stupid people” who “walk around with Ziploc bags of kale that they can eat to give ’em energy.”

“Most of them are members of the berserk wing of the Democratic Party,” Kennedy also noted before launching into why Walker’s critics, including President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama, the latter of who was campaigning for Warnock last Thursday in the Peach State, were wrong about Walker.

Watch (first video “transcribed” by Ron DeSantis hater Ron Filipkowski, who was clearly triggered):

Kennedy made a more pointed argument about why this Senate race was so critical to the future of America in comments he made to Fox News host Sean Hannity in late November, where he listed off the numerous reasons voting for Walker was important before urging undecided voters to simply go to the grocery store, fill up their gas tank in their car, and pay their electric bill.

“Then ask yourself how you ought to vote,” Kennedy suggested to them.

Watch:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has also been heavily campaigning for Walker in recent weeks, and last month said that a Warnock win making the Senate 51-49 would make it so that “Joe Biden can quickly fill the federal courts with radicals, with radicals who would take away your liberties and mine, who would take away your rights to religious liberty, your rights to free speech, your Second Amendment rights.”

As I said before, though Democrats managed to maintain control of the Senate (with the current number of seats at 50 with VP Kamala Harris being a potential tiebreaker), that still doesn’t mean Republicans should give up the fight to keep it at 50-50. Because as my RS colleague Bonchie pointed out Friday, “The difference between a 50/50 US Senate and a 51/49 one is the difference between Democrats controlling the committees and them being evenly split. In an evenly split environment, Republicans retain some control over things like judicial nominations.”

So vote Tuesday and vote often in this race, Georgia voters. I’m kidding. But please do vote. Because it’s kind of a big deal.
