Back in August, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) was caught on videotape maskless during an indoor party in her home state where hundreds – including her – were gathered in close proximity to each other, also without wearing masks.
What made the moment particularly embarrassing for the extreme “Squad” member and COVID guidelines policewoman is that just the day prior, she virtue signaled on Twitter to Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul about how he needed to “put people first” and follow CDC guidelines after he had advised people to start resisting government health mandates.
“The KY Senator is throwing a tantrum as his state is being swallowed whole by this virus, again,” a fauxfended Tlaib tweeted. “People are getting sick and dying. 98 counties in Kentucky have a high incidence rate of COVID-19. He needs to put politics aside, and put people first. Start resisting the virus.”
To my knowledge, she never responded to getting called out for her hypocrisy. But two months later, it would appear Tlaib has confirmed in so many words that she got the memo about the Democrat necessity to put on a show while the cameras are rolling by pretending you’re being extra safe during the coronavirus pandemic.
In a video obtained by The Free Beacon, Tlaib is seen wearing a mask Monday while outside during a Detroit event and standing close to supporters, most of who were masked. But it wasn’t her wearing a mask that was the revealing part. It’s what she told someone in front of her who wasn’t wearing one:
The “Squad” member told attendees at the event that she only wore a mask because a “Republican tracker” was filming her. After doing an event with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) secretary Marcia Fudge on Monday, Tlaib conversed with a maskless attendee who mistakenly thought the Democrat scolded him for being “the one unmasked guy” in the area. Tlaib responded by insisting she only wore a mask because a “Republican tracker” was recording the exchange.
“Oh, no, oh, not you!” Tlaib said as she pulled her mask away from her face. “No, no, no—I’m just wearing it because I’ve got a Republican tracker here.”

Got that? She admitted on camera that she only wears a mask when she knows she’s being videotaped.
In other words, it’s all theater, as Republicans who frequently get scolded for going maskless have long alleged.
As I’ve said before, it’s Democrats and the hypocrites in the mainstream media, not Republicans who have been their own worst enemies when it comes to mask-wearing and following guidelines and what they demand of others versus how they conduct themselves when they think no one is looking.
After all, if they are routinely seen not taking the preventative measures the CDC recommends (or that they mandate themselves) in order to keep their families and communities safe, why should anyone else?
