CNN's resident data guru, Harry Enten, continued to report on the Democratic party's decline, noting that voter registration numbers continue to surge for the Republican party - and the resistance is about as popular as the Cracker Barrel rebrand.
Enten discussed the matter of registration amongst the parties in four key swing states with "CNN Newsroom" anchor Jessica Dean over the weekend. His conclusion was not very flattering for a Democrat party that has suffered a perpetual onslaught of bad news since their disastrous 2024 election results.
"Look, the Democratic brand right now has about the appeal with the American voter as the Cracker Barrel rebrand has with the American consumers," he told Dean. "Bad, bad, bad. What are you doing?"
The fact is, they don't know what they're doing. They know they have an appeal problem with men, so they've decided to swear a lot. They know they are far less popular than President Trump, so they've taken to plagiarizing his social media personality.
They're shameless, but rudderless.
It ain't working, folks. And Enten explains that, when it comes down to key facts and figures, such as voter registration in crucial swing states, they're really struggling to figure things out.

"Bad, bad for the Democrats."

DIVE DEEPER: Analysis of Nationwide Voter Registration Trends Shows Catastrophic Situation for Democrats
The Surge in GOP Voting Registration Is Great, but It Points to Something Troubling
"Let‘s look at the key four swing states that, in fact, do keep track of registration by party," Enten relayed. "Look, the Republican Party is in their best position at this point in the cycle since at least 2005."
Arizona (+3 points), North Carolina (+8 points), Pennsylvania (+8 points), and Nevada (+6 points) all have voter registration for the GOP well ahead of previous recorded markers.
Enten went on to say that Republicans are actually "converting old former Democrats to their side." In essence, they've gone to the dark side. How else to explain the pivot to "literally Hitler"?
"The bottom line is this, Jessica Dean: When it comes to party registration, Republicans have made massive gains compared to eight years ago. They are in their best position in these key four swing states, dating back at least 20 years," he explained.
"We‘ll see what happens down the road, but at this point, as I said at the beginning, the Democratic brand is about as good a position as the Cracker Barrel rebrand," Enten concluded. "It is bad, bad, bad for the Democrats."
Yikes! The Democrat party is about as popular as dysentery on the Oregon Trail at this point.
Enten's numbers match current trends. As RedState's Bonchie reported last week, an analysis of voter registration numbers is showing a "catastrophic situation" for the Democrats. Can the GOP do the unthinkable and reverse the midterm trend that has plagued the President's party for decades?
The sitting president's party historically loses seats in midterms, averaging 28 House and four Senate losses since World War II. Democrats are hoping to God they can rest on their insane woke laurels and ride that average outcome to halt Donald Trump's agenda somehow.
They may want to heed Enten's warnings, though. It's something he's sounded the alarm on before. Just one week out from the 2024 presidential election, Enten noted voter registration numbers could be a sign of things to come for Kamala Harris.
"You can't say you haven't been warned," he said to a skeptical panel at the time.
Trump swept all seven key swing states, riding a red wave to an electoral landslide victory.
If deja vu strikes in 2026, you might as well write a eulogy for the Democrat party as a whole.
