If ever there were a perfect microcosm of a chain of events showing why you don’t want dim bulbs running the country, Squad members Summer Lee and Ilhan Omar just provided it.
Lee (PA-12) kicked off the festivities Tuesday afternoon by quote-tweeting Rep. Josh Gottheimer’s (NJ-5) post criticizing the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
"They’re socialists, who want to hijack the Democratic Party," Gottheimer explained on X. "The Democrats have a big tent. That’s our strength. We embrace a range of ideas—but there’s no room for anti-American bomb-throwers who oppose our ideas, values, & leaders."
(Side note—Nah, bro. Anti-American bomb-throwers have completely overtaken your party).
Lee pounced on the comments. She shouldn't have.
"What about Dems who sign bombs and vote to drop them?" she countered.
One can imagine Lee quietly closing her laptop, grin plastered across her face, knowing she had basically just ended her moderate colleague. But lo, what do we have here?

Yep, turns out Lee misfired. She was confusing Gottheimer with Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D), who was photographed in 2024 signing bombs alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky—an event tied to aid for fighting Russia, not Israel.
"You know that’s the other Jewish guy named Josh, right?" Gottheimer quipped.
No worries, however. Omar (MN-5) decided to weigh in, calmly pointing out Lee's mistake, suggesting she apologize, and then pivoting to a more reasonable argument.
Just kidding.
“He signed the bombs you voted to be dropped. Hope this helps!” she countered, apparently thinking she was defending Lee’s point.
Again, another intellectually vapid response complete with snark, and you just know she also, without a doubt, closed her laptop and nodded her own approval at the devastating takedown she had unleashed.
Sadly for her, not only did the Shapiro event have nothing to do with Israel, but Gottheimer had to point out that Omar had, in fact, also voted in favor of the bill.

"Shapiro signing bombs was an event with Zelensky about fighting Russia—it had nothing to do with Israel," Axios correspondent Alex Thompson responded.
This isn't even Republicans or conservatives blasting these two; it's a fellow Democrat and a dude who once pretended Joe Biden wasn't intellectually incapacitated, then wrote a book on how he was a super-sleuth and secretly knew all along.
It has to be physically painful to be this dumb. Yet Omar and Lee just throw out the low-IQ bomb insults on social media for the whole world to see. They're like the Wonder Twins, minus any powers.
Amazing. These two are the reason there are "Do Not Eat" labels on silica packets.
