Back in 2018, America was shocked when a self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist named Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was elected to Congress from New York's 14th district. Of course, we had heard plenty of goofy left-wing ideas from Democrats before then, but AOC was not shy about her Democratic Socialist bona fides. Since then, America has been treated to still more Democratic Socialists like Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (MI-12), New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson, and the trail of Democratic Socialists shows no sign of slowing down.
I have had the displeasure to appear before Francesca Hong at committee hearings in Madison, WI. Hong likes to love bomb mentally unwell kids into mutilating their bodies then ask them “what bring you trans joy” at legislative hearings.

The latest rising Democratic Socialist star is Wisconsin Assemblywoman Francesca Hong. Recent polls show her with a slight lead over the other Democratic frontrunner in the primary race, former Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes. Hong has also been endorsed by Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-05).

Francesca Hong checks off all the boxes on the Democratic Socialist wish list: free child care, a $20 minimum wage, government grocery stores, taxing the rich, sex changes, and banning the construction of data centers. Under the "Public Groceries" section of her campaign website, she has clearly mastered all the socialist talking points, saying, “Communities across the state are suffering as America’s largest grocery corporations close stores that serve low-income and rural populations." Then, she proceeded to toot her own horn and added, “Fran wrote a bill to create publicly-owned grocery stores to serve Wisconsinites with universal access to healthy, affordable food.”
Not to be outdone by her comrades, Mamdani and Wilson, in an interview with the local Milwaukee CBS affiliate, Hong stated, of course, that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished, and also dropped this gem: that her "perfect world would be a world without prisons." But Francesca Hong is a true believer, not just in socialism but in the fact that she believes that the Democrat Party's message just isn't getting out. In a recent interview with Politico's Playbook, she stated, “I think they’re underestimating voters. I think that has always been a problem for the Democratic Party — that we are not listening to how they are feeling.”
In Francesca's vision for Wisconsin, criminal illegal aliens are welcome while Americans whose job it is to enforce our laws will be marked for roundup and detention.

Choose carefully.
Oh, they hear you, Francesca. They told Democrats very clearly in 2024 that they wanted nothing to do with your hairbrained ideas.
Tom Tiffany is the leading Republican in the race. In a memo from April, he rightly stated:
We Need To Take Francesca Hong Seriously...Ignoring her strengths would be a strategic error. We have the tools to defeat her, but only if we respect the Mamdani-like threat she poses today.

Republicans can giggle at her and her fellow socialists' ridiculous ideas all day long, but Tiffany is spot on, not just with Hong but any others of her ilk that come along in 2026 and 2028. We ignore them at our own peril. New Yorkers and residents of Seattle may have scoffed at the campaign promises of Mamdani and Wilson. Now they are finding out that when someone tells you who they are, believe them.
Wisconsin might be blue, but is it New York and Washington state blue? That question will be answered when the Wisconsin primary is held on August 11.
“I think that my perfect world would be a world without prisons, right, because we all see the humanity in one another and then we know nobody's disposable.” Francesca Hong told the crowd, according to audio obtained by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

When asked about the comments, a spokeswoman for Hong said, "A world where needs are met and there's no need for prisons sounds like a goal worth working towards.
