House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8), upon whom you could write volumes regarding things he's unaware of, seems keenly in tune, at least, with the fact that the election of a full-blown democratic socialist as mayor of New York City is a messaging gold mine for Republicans.
The GOP already knows this. President Trump is well aware.
But the Democrat leader in the House is already laying down hints that he sees trouble on the horizon himself. Hence, the display we saw on Wednesday evening, where Temu Obama, as he is known, couldn't have weaseled his way out of a question about Zohran Mamdani being the future of the Democratic Party fast enough.
"You had record turnout in New York City for this election. Would you say that Mamdani is the future of the Democratic Party?" a reporter asked as Jeffries and a host of party leaders held a press conference.
The pivot in taking the spotlight off Mamdani and trying to shine it on a cross-country messaging win for the party as a whole, then specifically focusing on election night wins in Virginia, was so lightning-fast that it's really a wonder Jeffries didn't throw out a hip.

"I would say we had record turnout across the country because Democrats in New York City, in Virginia, in New Jersey—and we're so proud of our two colleagues, Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger, they ran amazing campaigns," Jeffries replied, altogether avoiding the question.
"But what Democrats have done all across the country is lean into the issue of affordability because of the fact that America's too expensive. Costs are too high."
Hmm ... You're not proud of Zohran, too?
Jeffries continued to blather on about costs being too high, allegedly exacerbated by the tariffs implemented by President Trump. In reality, core inflation is near its lowest level in four years, prices for everyday goods continue to drop, and Americans are growing increasingly confident about the economic outlook.
Other than all of that, he nailed it. Also, how rich of Democrats to have helped Joe Biden send the cost of living skyrocketing for four straight years and suddenly feign concern for the American people's collective wallets. Go pound sand, Hakeem.
Jeffries knows that Mamdani is politically toxic for his party. It's why he took so excruciatingly long to deliver a half-hearted endorsement for the communist.
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-4) is well aware that Jeffries is squirming with the Mamdani albatross hanging around his neck, and the neck of his entire party, heading into the midterms.
"He’s an unapologetic Marxist — fully EMBRACED by the Democrat establishment," Johnson wrote on X. "Hakeem Jeffries ENDORSED him. Barack Obama personally called to CONGRATULATE him."
"The Democrat Party has officially surrendered to socialists and the radicals who HATE America — they now control the movement."
Zohran Mamdani’s victory marks the BIGGEST WIN FOR destructive, dangerous, big government SOCIALISM in U.S. history — and a loss for freedom loving American people.

No lies detected on that front.
President Trump, following Mamdani's big win, has made it clear that voters have a choice going forward - siding with the communism being offered by the Democrat party, or siding with common sense.
Jeffries knows which side he's on. But he can't let on that his party and their voters have gone full communist.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
