You know that the far left and the socialist wing of the Democrat Party are flipping out now in the wake of Francesca Hong losing in the primary to David Crowley.
Hong was supposed to be a layup in a race other leading contenders had backed out of, yet despite the polling, Crowley had enough steam to beat her. Of course, the manifest craziness in some of her past statements may have had a lot to do with it, including prior bizarre statements about holidays, such as wanting to cancel Thanksgiving.
The socialists thought this was going to be another feather in their cap to confirm their surge was real. Instead, it only showed how flawed they are.

This did not make people like radical Twitch streamer Hasan Piker happy. Piker has been a chief surrogate pushing the surge and candidates like Hong. As the numbers came in on NBC, Piker started shouting, "I don't like the number! I don't like the number!" (Crowley had a slight advantage over Hong at that point). He said the fact that these races were so close was "specifically designed to make me have an aneurysm" and "become John Fetterman" (Yikes).
He said the establishment will "not underestimate us" and "knives will be out," which sounded like he was talking about the establishment effort against them.

He bashed the national media for pushing the question of electability in the general election.

He claimed Abdul El-Sayed had been doing better [in polls] against Republican Mike Rogers than Haley Stevens, and that "not a single poll showed that reality" that Stevens was doing better on electability against Rogers in the general. Of course, that was not the case.
A Michigan Education survey, which was conducted by the Glengariff Group and commissioned by the Michigan Education Association and Business Leaders for Michigan, shows Rogers beating El-Sayed by 10 points in a hypothetical match-up.
Meanwhile, Stevens was up on Rogers by one point, essentially a tie.
In the end, Piker argued perhaps the upside was that Crowley would beat the Republican Tom Tiffany.
But Crowley, although not a socialist, is not a great candidate either, which was why he had previously been estimated so low until people coalesced around him so as not to be stuck with Hong. So he's still going to face issues in the general election. Piker is likely wrong about that too.
What this did show is that the socialists got too big for their britches and got smacked back by the establishment and the less unhinged. Reality may be setting in for them in states/districts that are not rabidly blue.
