As we've been reporting, Freddy the German and his crew are here to go to the World Cup has certainly been having the road trip of a lifetime. He's fallen in love with America, showing us all the beautiful and fun places he's been visiting on his trip, and it's enjoyable watching him discover it all.
When last we left you, he was in Louisiana, making his way to Houston for Sunday's game, Germany vs. Curacao.
This is so insane😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/sqXwUNvbMp

After 7 days on the road (yes a lot of detours) we have made it to the state where Germany will play its first World Cup match! pic.twitter.com/xmY51FUera

He got a great view of Houston coming in at night.

Then he really made out. Former Houston Texans player JJ Watt found out about his trip, contacted him on X, and set him up with a snazzy place for the night. When they arrived, they also found Killen's barbecue and some very nice swag, with a nice welcome message from Watt.
Our room for the coming days in Houston. I don’t even know what to say about this. This is just unreal. No words.

Huge huge thank you to JJ Watt for giving me and my friends the opportunity to stay at a place like this🙏🙏🙏 pic.twitter.com/8XKUzpgiqD
Then, the next day came the game at NRG Stadium, the reason for being there.
WE HAVE ARRIVED!!!! Another insane stadium, and the roof is closed so it’s actually a little chilly in here. pic.twitter.com/lcBsB4rO1Y

They were rewarded with Germany winning, so, of course, they were very happy about that.
Great first World Cup game of the trip. Another 7-1 win for Germany at a World Cup and most importantly three points. Onwards we go!🇩🇪 pic.twitter.com/HvE6K4v2Ks

Dang, Americans are so nice:
This is all so insane. We found this when we got back to our room. And then someone even sent cupcakes to our room. I genuinely don’t understand how it got to this point. We’re just normal World Cup tourists.😭😭 pic.twitter.com/X6yVLOk582

They even got a tour of the biggest suite at the hotel, which had a panoramic view of the city (they weren't staying in this suite).
The hotel that JJ Watt put us up in gave us a tour of their biggest suite. It costs $150,000 a night. Completely insane. It even had its own basketball court.😭 pic.twitter.com/3kcNeLYb6F

Freddy and the crew have a few more days in Texas. They'll take in another match, and then they're off to Oklahoma City for the Ella Langley concert.
Our plan for the coming days: We‘ll be staying in Texas for a few more days and return to Houston on the 17th for the Portugal vs Congo match. After that match we‘ll jump straight into the car to start driving towards Oklahoma City for the Ella Langley concert on the 18th. pic.twitter.com/6jNwc6vwPh
