Freddy and his crew, the World Cup tourists from Germany, are certainly having a road trip for the ages. Their journey has been embraced by Americans, giving us fresh eyes to see the wonderful things about our own country that they and other Europeans in the country for the games are discovering for the first time.
As we reported, they saw beautiful areas from Georgia to Alabama, visited some local history sites, went tubing on the Chattahoochee River, and even posed with the Buc-ee's beaver.

They finally made it to Louisiana and then had a jam-packed day on Friday. They didn't make the airboat ride, but they did get to see an alligator. I don't think there are a lot of alligators in Germany.

This definitely was cool, as they got to see the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans facilities. They even got a picture with quarterback Tyler Shough and the Super Bowl trophy.

They also got a taste of some of what Louisiana was about: gumbo, beignets, boudin, and po' boys.

After eating that, Freddy might never leave.
Freddy had discovered Ella Langley's country music during the vistors' drive through the South, and was raving over it in his X posts. Then came a message that really touched him in response to his Saints post.

Freddy announced he would be going to her concert, and meeting her on June 18.

That's America - you start on a drive, and then suddenly you're meeting a country music singer.

That concert would be in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. So there's a lot of fun country to drive through from Houston. Freddy and the crew need to discover some Texas barbecue and Whataburger.

He's now also made her more known to folks who might not have heard of her.
They ended the day in a beautiful guest house that Freddy said wasn't more expensive than the hotels at which they had been staying.

Freddy and the crew are heading to Houston on Sunday, where they will finally make it to their team's World Cup game, Germany vs. Curaçao. He's hoping to hit more games if Germany does well.
