One of the things that shows the real mentality of the Democrats — that they are fully focused on their only goal, control — is how they have been reacting concerning the presumptive Democratic nominee for Senate in Maine, Graham Platner.
We saw one Democrat, Rep. Jake Auchincloss (MA-04), call Platner out, but then Auchincloss was stampeded by other Democrats.
This is quite something to see other Democrats scramble when the hosts on the Sunday shows ask them the question of the weekend: What do you think about Platner? So, in case you haven't seen it, it looks like the advice they've all been given is the "I haven't really paid attention to the question." Not a good look.
The response from Sen. Andy Kim (D-NJ) to CNN's Dana Bash was truly lame.

BASH: “Do you have concerns about Graham Platner?”
KIM:“I haven’t been able to focus as much on this...voters will decide.”
BASH: "What do you think?"
KIM: "I have not met him." pic.twitter.com/2Lgg166p7r
Kim claimed he'd been focused on the "crisis" in his state of New Jersey. Yes, he's the guy who was there with the anti-ICE crew in Newark when they got pepper-sprayed by ICE agents.

"I haven’t been able to focus as much on this," Kim said. Then he tried to punt, saying "voters will decide" as to whether they can trust him.
"But what do you think?" Bash pressed him.
"I have not met him," Kim waffled.
He can't even offer his opinion because he hasn't met him? If you can't even give a straight answer when you're asked a question, why should anyone trust what you have to say? You're not even willing to stand for what's right.
Then there was Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) with Face the Nation's Margaret Brennan. "I have not followed this story as closely as others have," he said.

BRENNAN: Does Graham Platner pass the character test?
MURPHY: I haven't followed this story as closely...character also involves standing up to people who are bankrupting and corrupting this country. pic.twitter.com/QQ3To1N3CW
Murphy then goes on to defend Platner, saying he served his country and served his community. But he "made mistakes." Having a Nazi tattoo for 18 years, saying he was a Communist when he was younger, and saying a wounded American service member shot by the Taliban "didn't deserve to live," among other comments, are not just "mistakes." They're a window into someone with serious issues.
Murphy claimed character "also involves standing up to people bankrupting and corrupting this country.” Then he claims Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) is supporting the "moral hollowing out" of the country by President Donald Trump. Unreal, what wouldn't Democrats excuse for power? Sounds like Murphy just failed the character test.
Then, finally, there was Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ). Now, I'll give him credit for not doing the ridiculous "I haven't paid attention" excuse. And he started well.
"Do you have concerns that Graham Platner may jeopardize Democratic hopes to get that Senate seat in Maine?" ABC's Jon Karl asked him.

BOOKER: "Yeah, I have concerns. The guy has questions to answer..." pic.twitter.com/lVt3Chajfx
"Yeah, I have concerns," Booker replied. "The guy has questions to answer."
Wow, a Democrat actually admitting he needs to answer questions. Is he about to make a bold stand for what's right?
Well, it's Booker. So he then goes and blows it all, "But..."
"And that’s what campaigns are for. But when I go all over New Jersey and see hundreds and hundreds of thousands of New Jerseyans losing their health care and millions more seeing their health care costs go up, as I have families who say I can’t afford gas for my car and child care for my children, I know that so much is riding on Democrats taking control of the Senate. That this election, if we do not get the votes necessary to take care of the House and the Senate, we will continue to have an out-of-control president."
The "concerns" are about their control — that's what they care about.
He did have some movement, though.

The problem for Democrats? They keep digging the hole deeper, and the reports are that more is coming. What will they do then? How much are they willing to embarrass themselves?
