The Schumer Shutdown is in its 28th day, and it's unclear what will bring it to an end.
Democrats have no excuses for voting against opening up the government. House Minority Whip, Democrat Rep. Katherine Clark (MA-5), even said the shutdown was about "leverage" for their political agenda.
Rep. Katherine Clark, D-Mass., admits the Democrats are keeping the government shutdown:

Talk about a horrible look and being clueless. But it shows Democrats don't really care about who they hurt; the priority for them is to "leverage" the shutdown to get what they want in their political agenda.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) may be trying to play to the leftist base to fend off a challenge to his seat from Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14). Democrats want to try to make themselves look tough to the base and have it hurt the Republicans.
But this strategy seems to be coming back to bite them if we listen to what CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten has to say on the matter.
CNN anchor John Berman asked what "political pain" would be needed to end the shutdown. Enten explained that the numbers were surprising. As far as Republican numbers are concerned, the situation has helped them.
#BREAKING: Republicans' polling has improved during Democrat government shutdown

CNN: "The Republican brand in Congress has actually improved" incl. with Independents 📈
Plus alarm bells for Democrats: "The worst position Democrats have been…in the last 20 years" 🚩 pic.twitter.com/g0hWYhsChM
The GOP brand has risen two points, and the Congressional GOP number has risen five points. So their brand has actually improved, he notes.
Who has it gotten better with? It's gone up with Republicans. Approval is up 12 points with the base. That makes sense — they want them to be strong on the issues. But it's also gone up with the independents, by eight points.
Enten notes that while the Democrats are ahead on the generic Congressional ballot and it hasn't dropped since the start of the shutdown, that number is not good for them. He said it was the worst number for them in a midterm with a Republican president in office in the last 20 years. They usually would be doing much better with that number approaching the midterms. It's "considerably worse than they traditionally do," Enten said.
Bottom line? The Democrats' strategy has not only failed, it's helped the Republicans.
Contrary to what Chuck Schumer says, every day does not in fact get better for the Democrats during the Schumer Shutdown. https://t.co/eF5LpJ0bNk

This may bring them around if they have anyone who has any sense left on the Democratic side.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
