We're on the 24th day of the Schumer Shutdown, and the Democrats are continuing to vote against opening the government.
But the Democrats are sending their people out to spin things as best they can. It is not going well for them.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) appeared on CNBC, where he was crushed by the facts. This was priceless as host Becky Quick nuked the Democrats' argument on Obamacare subsidies.

The three-year setup for the expiration of these [Obamacare] credits was intentionally put in. It was put in when you controlled the White House, the House, and the Senate. You couldn’t get it passed for longer. And so, this is a set-up, kind of, of your own creation, that you all couldn’t extend beyond that. Now you want the Republicans to do something you didn’t do when you were in power?
Oh, my, that is brutal, and right on target. You rarely see any media target nuke someone so well with the facts.
It left Jeffries doing the seventeen different hand movements that he does, denying that it was a setup. He was left to lie about the tax cuts that were extended in the One Big Beautiful Bill, claiming it was about helping billionaires. In fact, the tax cuts helped most Americans. Democrats voted against that when they voted against the OBBB. But none of that is even in the continuing resolution to vote on to keep the government open, so what is he even talking about? The CR to open the government is a clean CR, so there's nothing in it preventing them from voting on it and negotiating on subsidies later.
This Obamacare mess is all on them, and they're trying to use the shutdown to save it now, when they didn't do it before. They are using the federal employees, including our military, as "hostages" to try to get their own way.
This also exposes how the Affordable Care Act was not "affordable" and had to be propped up by subsidies to deceive the American people. Yet, the premiums are still going up. It was never what they claimed it to be.
The media is beginning to nail the Democrats on this. Squawk Box has some people willing to ask questions, like Quick and Joe Kernen. But, as we've reported, even liberal media like ABC's Jon Karl are starting to place the blame for the shutdown where it belongs, on the Democrats.

They have no credible position on the shutdown. They wouldn't even vote for pay for our military and the essential workers. They voted against a bill just on that on Thursday.
I'm not sure how this ends, but the longer it goes, the worse it's going to get for the Dems.
