Liberal Media Just Made a Big Admission About the Schumer Shutdown - Dems Aren't Going to Like This

As we reported, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) appeared on ABC with Jonathan Karl on Sunday and nuked the Democrats and their "No Kings" performance with some reality. He noted that if President Donald Trump were a king, the Democrats wouldn't have been able to hold that ridiculous event.

The very fact that the Democrats were able to hold their protests and were not shut down disproves their point.

Plus, as Johnson explained, if Trump were a king, the federal government would be open; it would not continue to be shut down.

Johnson explained that the House did its job. Now it's time for the Senate to do theirs, but it's the Democrats voting no.

"The House did its job, exactly a month ago today on September 19. We passed the clean resolution," he said. "The Democrats have voted 11 times, except for three Democrats in the Senate, they voted 11 times to shut down the government and cease and halt those programs," Johnson said.

But there was another element to the discussion that the Democrats aren't going to like. That's when Jon Karl said this:

"The Democrats did not vote for the clean funding bill," Karl observed. "They have chosen to shut the government down to fight for healthcare and the other items you mentioned." Whoops.

Johnson pointed out that it's the Republicans who were fighting for healthcare, that they were fighting to preserve Medicaid, to make it work better, and not have it going to illegal aliens, for example. The Democrats want to upend all that with their present demands. They want to hold the government hostage, and get through a shutdown what they weren't able to get through regular voting on other legislation. And it doesn't even make any sense since they've voted on clean CRs in the past.

It's all about Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) posturing for the leftist base so he doesn't lose his seat to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Now, of course, the fact that the Democrats have chosen to shut the government down is self-evident from the vote — you need 60 votes to open the government on the clean continuing resolution, and they keep voting against it. However, that hasn't stopped the Democrats from trying to blame the Republicans. But when it even gets to the point where ABC has to admit it's the Democrats, then you know the Democrats' messaging on the matter is failing.

They're not even able to hold that media narrative anymore.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
