I'm not sure who thinks that having Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) be the "faces" of the Democratic Party is a good idea, but whoever it is must be working for the Republicans. The more these two show their faces with their silly comments, the more people reject Democrats as having any credibility at all. 

Crockett was at it again this week with a comment about illegal aliens that was all kinds of wrong.

"So I had to go around the country and educate people about what immigrants do for this country, or the fact that we are a country of immigrants. The fact is ain’t none of y’all trying to go and farm right now," Crockett said, garnering a sheepish laugh from a few members of the audience. 

"OK, so I'm lying?" Crockett shot back, noticing the awkward silence. "You're not! You're not! We done picking cotton! We are. You can't pay us enough to find a plantation."

Oh my. Did she just say we need illegal aliens from foreign countries to do work that she just compared to slave labor? Because that's what it sounded like to me. 

How many ways is she wrong here besides that? Illegal aliens are not the same as "immigrants" — this is the continual blurring of the lines the Democrats do. Then, if there are specific legal processes by which workers can come in to do agricultural work, you don't need people to enter illegally. Moreover, that's probably not what most illegal aliens are doing.

As to the "cotton picking," she never picked cotton. Indeed, machines do that in the U.S., so now people aren't doing it anymore. But she thinks it's beneath her and other Americans, but it's fine to make illegal aliens do it. Yikes. 

Yes, this is really what Democrats are projecting at this point as they try to dig themselves out of the hole they've dug. 

President Donald Trump just nuked Crockett during his remarks at the National Republican Congressional Committee dinner on Tuesday evening.

Bingo, he calls it. He and the other Republicans probably want her to keep on talking to help Democrats' approval sink even more. Doubtless, she'll flip out at what he says and add yet another unhinged comment to her growing list, including claiming illegal entry isn't a crime and calling Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who is in a wheelchair, "Gov. Hot Wheels."
