Bennie Thompson Scrambles After Staffer Posts Unbelievable Comment on Trump Assassination Attempt

We've seen a lot of bad takes from the left and the media in regard to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

But the take from a person, Jacqueline Marsaw, who was reportedly a staffer for Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), has to be up there among the worst. She posted a meme with the words, "I don't condone violence, but please get you some shooting lessons so you don't miss next time oops that wasn't me talking."  She insinuated that Trump's shooter shouldn't have missed:

Thompson issued a statement after an understandable hullabaloo about the staffer's meme.

“I was made aware of a post made by a staff member and she is no longer in my employment,” he said.

There were a variety of these types of comments from people on the left along the lines of "sorry he missed." This is what the left has inculcated with trying to make Trump Hitler.

Marsaw's comment is horrible, and Bennie Thompson is trying to run from it now. But it's a little late, given his prior actions.

Thompson has been a part of the demonizing of Trump. He headed the Jan. 6 Committee, which seemed to have as its purpose trying to get Trump. In April, he also tried to get Trump's Secret Service protection removed with legislation, as we have reported, if he was convicted of a felony.

Thompson is scrambling now. Here's what he posted on X about the assassination attempt, saying there is no room for political violence, he was "glad" Trump was safe, and that his "thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved":

But people weren't buying it. Many called him out on X over it.

Donald Trump Jr painted it starkly, saying had Thompson gotten his way, his father would be dead now. He called on people not to let Thompson memory hole what he tried to do:.

Exactly. He can spin now, but we won't forget.
