Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is a slimy rodent. I don’t usually call people names, but he’s more than earned it with the lies and unprincipled actions he’s been involved with over the years. He was busted on one of those efforts earlier, as my colleague Sister Toldjah reported. Schiff was appealing to other Democratic representatives to pressure Meta to continue to keep President Donald Trump off Facebook and Instagram. This, despite the fact that Trump just declared his candidacy for the 2024 race.

So, that amounts to Schiff using his political power to silence his political opponent and keep him off social media. It was only discovered because Schiff stupidly sent the letter accidentally to some Republicans, including one who called him out on it. That says so much about him right there — evil and incompetent.

However, that wasn’t the only lie/despicable action that Schiff got nailed for Thursday. He also went after Elon Musk and Twitter, the new hate focal point of the Democrats, now that the liberal establishment no longer controls the platform. Schiff claimed that “hate speech” had gone up on Twitter, throwing out random numbers, without citing a source. On top of that, what qualifies as “hate speech” to a leftist source has a much broader range; for example for some of them, calling someone a “groomer” equals “hate speech,” which is ridiculous.

On Elon Musk's Twitter:

– Slurs against Black people have tripled
– Slurs against women are up 33%
– Slurs against Jewish people are up 61%
– And slurs against gay men are up 58%

These numbers are abysmal – and unacceptable.

Schiff claimed hate speech had gone up under Musk, that the “numbers are abysmal – and unacceptable.” He said that he and Rep. Mark Takano (D-CA) “are demanding action.”

Not only didn’t Schiff provide a source, but Musk called him out on that, saying Schiff’s claims were false, and that hate speech impressions were down by a third from before his takeover.

Then Schiff melted down and made more claims without evidence.

Hey Elon, under your leadership neo-Nazis, homophobes, and racists are flocking to Twitter. And spewing hate speech.

Your denial would be more credible if it was backed up by any real evidence.

Unfortunately, Schiff is known for not backing up his false claims with evidence.

But that’s Schiff — he doesn’t care about the truth, he cares about control, and when it comes to Twitter, that’s slipped out of the left’s hands. That’s what this is about. His comments reveal the way that he thinks the government has any right to dictate to a private business about speech, likely because they had that easy coordination [read: collusion] with Twitter in the past, as we reported.

Schiff didn’t call for “action” before, despite the fact that slurs, porn and child exploitation were rampant on the site before Musk. He didn’t care about the suppression of the truth, like the Hunter Biden laptop story. All that was perfectly fine. This new claim is an excuse to try to somehow drop the hammer on Twitter and bring them into Democratic compliance.

Indeed, after the Twitter files were dropped by Musk, liberals were tripping all over themselves, arguing the files didn’t show government involvement (and therefore a First Amendment question). Yet, here’s Schiff — a high government official — doing exactly what they claimed the government wasn’t doing, trying to pressure social media to comply with what he wants.

It isn’t within the power of the government to police speech, even horrible or obnoxious speech. If we go down that road, we start to get into some dangerous territory–again, who gets to decide what is acceptable speech? Leftist organizations who don’t like the word “groomer”? Democrats claim being Republican is itself “hateful,” to push for their own power. It’s a slippery slope, but Schiff is the slime who would go down that slope.
