New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s office just released a statement saying that she has tested positive for COVID, is experiencing symptoms, and is quarantined at home.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tested positive for COVID-19 Sunday.

AOC is vaccinated and also got a booster shot last fall, according to her office. She encouraged everyone to get a booster and follow CDC guidance, the office said.

This follows her trip to Florida, where she was spotted partying without a mask at a crowded drag brunch with actor Billy Porter in Miami, hugging people, as well as on another occasion eating out at a sushi restaurant in Miami Beach without a mask.

AOC accused Republicans who were critical of her of being sexually obsessed with her and wanting to date her.

She donned the mask when she came back to New York about five days ago and attacked Republicans in a weird rant about her boyfriend’s feet.

It seemed sort of silly, given how she had just been partying down in Florida, but then again, it’s New York, land of the COVID restrictions. Clearly, she didn’t wear the mask because she thought it would be protective; otherwise, she would have worn it in Florida, regardless of whatever the rules in Florida were.

I guess the only question here is how will she try to make this somehow Gov. Ron DeSantis’ fault? Because you know that’s coming in some way.

But the bottom line is that this once again puts paid to Joe Biden’s lie that this is the “pandemic of the unvaccinated.” Oh, please, just stop; this was always a lie, it’s just more obvious now that all the “good people” (translate: pontificating liberals) are getting it all over the place, too.

It’s a virus. A virus doesn’t hit people because of whatever twisted sense of morality any political party is pushing — it hits anyone and everyone it can, including the vaccinated. You are not a better person because you are vaccinated and think you are somehow more morally superior to someone who is unvaccinated. You can get it, too. And when there is a surge of Omicron going on, maybe a packed drag brunch where you’re hugging people isn’t the best idea? Not exactly the CDC guidance on social distancing. While folks are looking at her visit to Florida, it should be noted her own state/city is surging with numbers with more cases than Florida, so she could have gotten it there.
