Oh, the Humanity! TDS-Riddled Jim Acosta 'May Exit' CNN After 'Getting Hosed' by Failing Network

It's a dark day in the media, America. And it's likely to get even worse.

TDS-riddled Jim Acosta’s days at CNN may be numbered as the former White House correspondent for the self-described "Most Trusted News." Known for his combative coverage of President Trump, Acosta "may exit" the failing network, as its ratings continue to swirl down the toilet, rather than accept a demotion from his late-morning slot to a nightly midnight show.

As a CNN staffer told Fox News Digital, poor Jimbo is "getting hosed."

Acosta is a talented broadcaster who could handle any slot on the network. The midnight thing is shocking [but] it is what it is. He could have a real slot, but the choice is to not give him one.

While the Trump-loathing "journalist" richly deserves a demotion, I'm crestfallen that we likely will not see his assured emasculation by President Trump in future press conferences like we did in the good old days.

According to the Los Angeles Times, CNN Chairman and Chief Executive Mark Thompson made the call

Fans of Jim Acosta may soon have to wait until the midnight hour to see their favorite CNN anchor — or perhaps not see him at all.

Acosta, a fixture on the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned network since 2007, is mulling a proposal from CNN Chairman and Chief Executive Mark Thompson to give up his daytime shift and move to Los Angeles to helm a two-hour nightly newscast that starts at midnight Eastern time.

A CNN representative and Acosta declined to comment.

But two people familiar with the discussions confirmed the talks, which were first reported last week in Status, the newsletter written by former CNN media correspondent Oliver Darcy.

The move comes as various media and social media titans attempt to cozy up to the president, which the Times also noted, although from a slightly different perspective.

If CNN goes forward with the move, some will see it as a way of capitulating to President Trump by reducing the profile of a journalist known for his aggressive coverage of Trump’s first administration. If Acosta decides against taking the assignment, he may exit the network, according to people familiar with his thinking.

A number of media, entertainment and tech organizations, including the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Amazon and Facebook parent Meta, have been accused of looking for ways to avoid getting on the bad side of Trump, who has shown a willingness to retaliate against his critics.

Lemme fix that.

Trump doesn't "retaliate" against his critics in the media; he loves going toe-to-toe with them.

As has been the case with tech moguls Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates, all three of whom made pilgrimages to Mar-a-Logo to kiss the then president-elect's ring, perhaps Thompson and CNN finally realized that continually trashing Trump and censoring conservative content isn't exactly a strong business strategy.

One need only look at CNN's miserable ratings for ample proof.

Meanwhile, the likes of MSNBC's TDS-riddled, blatantly racist host Joy Reid, and ABC's silly hosts of "The View," including blowhard Joy Behar and racist, antisemitic Sunny Hostin continue to spew their nonsense.

Time will tell.
