President Donald Trump shared an update about the ongoing construction of the grand ballroom at the White House, while sporting a new lapel pin on his jacket next to an American flag pin.
Speaking to oil executives around a table in the East Room on Friday, Trump couldn’t deny the builder in him when he stood up, and walked over to take a peek at the current renovations at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. He wanted to see how construction was going on the highly anticipated ballroom.

“I got to look at this myself,” Trump said, before he got up to look out the glass windows to admire the work. "Wow, what a view. This is the door to the ballroom. Unusual time to look, but I figured we might as well."
“If the fake news would like to go back and take a look, you can,” he added. “But you see a very big foundation. We are ahead of schedule at the moment and under budget."
After the meeting, Trump gave an impromptu press conference and took on a host of questions from members of the White House Press Corps.

During that time, Fox News’ Peter Doocy took the opportunity to inquire about the new lapel pin the president was sporting on his jacket next to the flag one.
.@POTUS: "Somebody gave me this. You know what that is? That's called a 'Happy Trump' — and considering the fact that I'm never happy... I'm never satisfied — I will never be satisfied until we Make America Great Again!" 🤣 https://t.co/0EOARWhXTJ pic.twitter.com/6fRpflGj4I

Trump explained it’s called a “happy Trump.” Yes, really.
"Somebody gave me this. You know what that is? That's called a 'Happy Trump,’” the president explained. “And considering the fact that I'm never happy, I'm never satisfied. I will never be satisfied until we Make America Great Again!"
“But we’re getting pretty close, I’ll tell you what, ” he added. “This is called a 'Happy Trump.’ Somebody gave it to me. I put it on.”
A connected post (see above) on X gave a great close-up of President Trump’s new accessory, which appears to be an image of Trump himself.
Back in July, Trump first sent the legacy media and leftist politicians into a tizzy when he said it was high time the White House had a ballroom that replicated those in Europe, RedState reported.
"In the White House, as you know, for 150 years, they've wanted to have a ballroom. They don't have a ballroom," Trump explained. "They have meeting rooms. They have those beautiful, you've seen, you've interviewed me in those rooms. But they have beautiful meeting rooms."
"But they've never had a ballroom," he added. "A ballroom, meaning someplace you can sit 6 or 700 people if the President of China or France, or the U.K., or [EU President] Ursula von der Leyen comes to town, you give them a big state dinner. We don't have a room like that. At the White House, they have to use a tent."
Trump said when it rains it's a mess, and he vowed that if he won a second time, he’d build one to solve that problem.
