The Federal Bureau of Investigation analysts behind the infamous 2023 Catholic Weaponization memo have been fired. The memo was disseminated out of the Richmond, VA FBI Office, deep in the swamp. Some Americans believe there should be greater accountability than this; however, this is a good start.
Several FBI analysts tied to the creation of a 2023 memo warning of a potential threat from Catholic “violent extremists” were fired Friday, according to their lawyer, the latest wave of terminations under the leadership of its director Kash Patel.
The fired employees included four intelligence analysts and a supervisory analyst. The FBI declined to comment.
What is there to comment upon? This was a terrible action that had First Amendment implications, yet they went ahead and did it anyway.
Of note, in the footnotes and appendices of the memo, the FBI's main source for defining who and what defined a hate group was, wait for it: The Southern Poverty Law Center.
Enough said.

From the 2023 memo:
FBI Richmond assesses the increasingly observed interest of racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists (RMVEs) in radical-traditionalist Catholic (RTC) a ideology almost certainly presents opportunities for threat mitigation through the exploration of new avenues for tripwire and source development. FBI Richmond makes this assessment with high confidence based on FBI investigations, local law enforcement agency reporting, and liaison reporting, with varying degrees of corroboration and access.
This memo was buried, and then when uncovered by the House Committee on the Judiciary, then-FBI Director Christopher Wray lied about it in front of an oversight committee, claiming it was one rogue office and not a coordinated effort. The memo clearly stated collaboration with offices in Portland and Los Angeles in their "analysis."
What is even more gobsmacking is that FBI Richmond boasted that no other FBI offices had addressed this "environmental variable."
This is the first FBI Richmond domain product to focus on the interest of RMVEs in the RTC movement. A search of FBI databases indicated this is also the first FBI finished intelligence product to specifically address this environmental variable.
The special agent in charge of the Richmond office who approved of this memo now works for VA Gov. Abigail Spanberger as her Secretary for Public Safety and Homeland Security.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) special agent who oversaw the Virginia office responsible for a highly controversial investigation into local Catholics will lead the state’s safety office under its new Democratic governor.
Gov.-elect Abigail Spanberger nominated Stanley Meador as the next Virginia secretary for public safety and homeland security, according to a December announcement.

Doubtful that Virginians, especially Virginia Catholics, feel any safer. But, at least more of the Deep State herd has been culled.
