Former President Barack Obama's presidential legacy is crumbling before our eyes. While he works to perform the roles of former president and titular head of the Democrat Party, running interference for the flailing campaigns of Democrat gubernatorial candidates Abigail Spanberger (VA) and Mikie Sherrill (NJ), and propping up CA Gov. Gavin Newsom and his unconstitutional gerrymandering scheme, he has the looming threat of the government for whom he used to be the head, precipitating his legacy's increasing demise.

In July, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard dropped evidence that exposed how then-President Obama and his intelligence apparatus created fraudulent documents that spearheaded the entire Russia Collusion hoax lodged against President Donald Trump 45.

DNI Gabbard Details More Jaw-Dropping Info on Obama's Effort to 'Subvert the American People's Will'
Gabbard released this report on July 23, a month after Obama spoke at The Connecticut Forum, a non-profit organization which claims to "encourage the free and active exchange of ideas in forums that inform, challenge, entertain, inspire, and build bridges among all people and organizations in our community."
In looking at its past speaker events, it is a laundry list of every globalist, left-of-center, and Democrat activist, with very few (if any) conservative or right-leaning speakers. So much for a free and active exchange of ideas when the only ideas platformed are Democrat and leftist. These are the places Obama is most at home as he continues to burnish his increasingly tarnished reputation and positions himself as a leader in the free world, despite no longer being the leader of the free world.
Obama's remarks surrounding the government's role were strangely aligned with the revelations of his manufacturing intelligence to take down President Trump.

Curious word, "Experimenting." Obama's complaints about platforms that elevate "hateful voices," and how "government is going to have to be involved..." are nothing new.
In a 2022 address to the Cyber Policy Center at Stanford University, Obama presented a much fuller plan on how government could tightly control social media platforms and arbitrate what is and is not free speech. In a Tuesday Public News exclusive, independent journalist Michael Shellenberger exposed how Obama laid out the entire program, which the Biden-Harris administration gleefully tried to implement.

In the spring of 2022, former President Barack Obama gave a major policy address at Stanford University’s Cyber Policy Center, where he laid out a sweeping proposal for government censorship of social media platforms through the Platform Accountability and Transparency Act. Six days later, President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security announced that it had created a “Disinformation Governance Board” to serve as an Orwellian Ministry of Truth with the clear goal of controlling the information Americans could access online.
In April 2022, Nina Jankowicz, aka "Scary Poppins," was tapped as the Executive Director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Disinformation Governance Board. She thought it was a clever move to turn a song from the movie "Mary Poppins" into a disinformation ditty.
Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter (now X) and the release of the Twitter Files brought further revelations to the collusion between Big Tech and the Biden-Harris administration's attempt to maintain a stranglehold.

However, what is given less attention, particularly since Jankowicz resigned in disgrace three weeks after being appointed, is that as early as February 2022, shadow president Barack Obama had set those plans he had outlined in his Stanford speech into motion, as RedState reported.
In November 2022, my colleague streiff reported on an investigation conducted by Senators Chuck Grassley and Josh Hawley, which revealed that this same Disinformation Governance Board that DHS claimed had not even been launched yet, was actually up and running as early as February with a “steering group” holding weekly meetings to set policy and strategy. Jankowicz and her team were already partnering with Big Tech with a meeting with Facebook being scheduled, and they created a portal to share information with foreign governments. Omidyar Network, a prominent Democrat dark money group, was also coordinating with them on policy on how to censor speech.

Thanks to Hawley, we found that social media outlets had created a “portal” where the FBI and other agencies could order the take-down of offending posts (Leaked Documents Show DHS, the FBI, and Social Media Platforms Worked Together to Stop Debate on COVID, Hunter’s Laptop, and Election Integrity). We also know that foreign governments had access to that portal, but we don’t know which ones.
Those 2022 remarks, and the additional information Public News has uncovered, aligned closely with what occurred under the Biden-Harris administration. From Shellenberger:
At the heart of Obama’s vision for Internet censorship was legislation that would have authorized the US government’s National Science Foundation to authorize and fund supposedly independent NGOs to censor the Internet. The DHS and Stanford Internet Observatory, which was part of the Stanford Cyber Policy Center, pioneered this censorship-by-proxy strategy as a way to get around the First Amendment in 2020 with posts raising concerns about the 2020 elections and in 2021 with “narratives” expressing concern about the Covid vaccine.
Had Donald Trump not won the 2024 election, Obama's efforts to embed government censorship through his shadow operators would have continued. The Disinformation Governance Board may have appeared to have been dismantled, but DHS would have found a way to repackage it as well as turn the screws further on the social media companies that had already bent the knee.
Trump's win was a win for free speech, but the president was also smart enough to rip out the wiring from the apparatus. Trump's executive orders to dismantle USAID and orders targeting the funding of universities, places that should be incubators of free speech but instead have become hotbeds of leftist ideology and censorship, cut right to the heart of Obama's vision to use NGOs and educational centers to further his aims.
The 2024 election of President Donald Trump significantly reduced the threat of Obama, DHS, and NSF censoring the American people. Trump defunded much of the Censorship Industrial Complex. The Platform Accountability Act is going nowhere in Congress. Elon Musk fired most of the censorship staff at Twitter and has allowed a significantly wider range of speech on the platform. And even before Trump’s election, Stanford donor Frank McCourt stopped funding the Stanford Internet Observatory after Public, Racket News, and House Weaponization Subcommittee Chairman Jim Jordan exposed its central role in the DHS censorship-by-proxy scheme.
Sadly, while America is waking up and rejecting Obama and his fallacious ideals, Europe continues to give him a platform, a willing audience, and the tools for Obama to implement his vision of global censorship.
But now, foreign governments, including Europe, the UK, Brazil, Australia, and others are demanding censorship, including of the American people. The risk is that US tech companies will find it significantly less expensive to have a single global censorship regime and just go along with foreign censorship requests. Facebook complied with Biden administration demands to censor because it needed Biden’s help in dealing with European censorship officials. And the Brazilian government forced Elon Musk to continue censoring the Brazilian people after it froze Starlink’s assets.
Don't think Obama's shadow hand is not at work, as he has been working at it for quite some time, as one European publication revealed.
Barack Obama will come to the EU in May 2025. Former US President in Poland will speak at the economic panel Impact'25 in Poznan, where he will be one of the speakers. Last year, one of the speakers at the event was his wife Michelle Obama, as reported by the Polish edition. Gazeta.Pl
The source clarifies that the May visit to Poland will be Obama's fourth in a row.
On top of this May trip, at the end of September, Obama appeared in London and Dublin, Ireland, for "An Evening with President Barack Obama," and traveled again to Poland and Hungary to speak with "democracy activists." In seeming coordination with these European jaunts, Public News received an agenda for a September 24 secret dinner of top European censorship officials at Stanford Cyber Policy Center.

Public has discovered that the Stanford Cyber Policy Center, which is led by Obama’s former ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul, is at the heart of a new, secretive, and possibly illegal censorship initiative that appears even more ambitious than the one Obama proposed in 2022.
On September 24, the Cyber Policy Center hosted a secret dinner between its leaders and top censorship officials from Europe, UK, Brazil, California and Australia. The meeting was titled “Compliance and Enforcement in a Rapidly Evolving Landscape.” Frank McCourt, the same person behind the Stanford Internet Observatory, financed the gathering through his “Project Liberty Institute,” (PLI), toward which he gave $500 million to “strengthen democracy” and “foster responsible technology.”
Crazy Nina Jankowicz has not gone gently into that good night either. In 2024, she started her own disinformation organization, "The American Sunlight Project." Jankowicz regularly speaks as a witness or panelist on these European forums that also seek to tighten the censorship net.
In April 2025, at the same time Obama was in Poland, Jankowicz appeared before a European special committee, maligning America and its president as the enemy of free speech and a danger to democracy. Rinse. Repeat.
On Tuesday, the European Parliament’s Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield held a hearing and asked Jankowicz to give "expert" testimony on Russia’s disinformation campaigns, cyberattacks, espionage, and other hybrid threats targeting Europe. Instead of focusing just on the subject at hand, Jankowicz chose in her remarks to sic the EU on America and on the tech organizations she herself attempted to control when she served the Biden administration.

Shellenberger rounded out his expose with this warning:
All of this is happening in a context of global censorship intensifying. The UK government arrests 30 people per day for “offensive” social media posts, is attempting to censor 4Chan, which has no servers in the UK, and will mandate digital IDs for employment, which may give unprecedented control to politicians and bureaucrats to censor. The Brazilian government has, for year,s been censoring journalists and policymakers, incarcerating people for legal social media content, and threatening prosecution of journalists, including this author. And several European nations are censoring and arresting their citizens, preventing opposition political candidates from running for office, and preparing to implement digital IDs.
As Obama's legacy falls apart in the United States, accountability may be coming his way. But in Europe, Obama gives all the appearances of setting himself up as a globalist leader and the premier voice of the European censorship industrial complex.
