We've been seeing some interesting stories from ABC News reporter Jon Karl's new book.
I previously wrote about the fracture in the relationship between Barack Obama and Joe Biden shortly before and after Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race. It doesn't sound like the "bromance" they had been trying to sell us.
Karl also dished that Kamala Harris did not call members of Congress after Biden's disastrous debate against Donald Trump to support Biden staying in the race. She had a ridiculous excuse that she thought they might think she was influencing them about her own position. However, Harris was quick to pressure Biden to immediately endorse her after he dropped out, to foreclose anyone else getting in.

It was that immediate endorsement by Biden that led to what I'm writing about now.
According to Karl's book, Obama was not a happy camper with Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi (CA-11) for also immediately endorsing Kamala within 24 hours. He had wanted a "process" to take place to open it up to more people.
Obama thought Pelosi was on board with that process, and he was taken by surprise.
Karl wrote that Obama and Pelosi both “agreed Harris should not simply be handed the nomination unchallenged.”
“Therefore, Obama and Pelosi — arguably the two most influential figures in the Democratic Party — had privately agreed to abstain from making any endorsements,” the journalist claimed.
The pair had been in “regular communication” leading up to Biden’s July 21, 2024, withdrawal announcement, which is why Obama was so stunned by Pelosi’s decision to back Harris.
A Pelosi confidante told Karl, "The Obamas were not happy." Interesting, that's plural, including Michelle. Were they planning on trying to sub in Michelle?
“This person summed up Obama’s message to Pelosi as, essentially, ‘What the f**k did you just do?’” An Obama source cast it as "ribbing" to Karl, but the source close to Pelosi believed Obama was "genuinely irritated."
But Pelosi's response to Obama was allegedly "that train has left the station." She described Harris in her endorsement as "brilliantly astute," which is hilariously inaccurate.
That's fascinating. If Pelosi had agreed, why then did she shaft Obama and change her mind? Just because Biden endorsed Harris? And Biden probably wanted to mess with Democrats since they were shoving him out the door.
But this story also reveals the behind-the-scenes dealmaking; Obama thought they had agreed on how this was going to work.
Funny coming from the party that's chanting about "No Kings." It shows you he was not comfortable with the concept of endorsing Kamala. He didn't come around to it for a few days, until he was left without a lot of options.
Obama didn't get what he reportedly wanted, and that certainly hurt the Democrats, who were then left with a candidate unable to enunciate why anyone should vote for her.
Obama didn't get to control things, and we won with a far superior candidate for America.
But it's funny how books like this from the liberal media only come out with the damaging information after the election is already over.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
