In the wake of this convoluted election, Americans who support President Donald Trump have chosen to gather and peacefully protest in the various states that are still in the midst of their count. Arizona appeared to be the legacy media’s focal point on Wednesday, and they have lost their collective hive minds over it; the coverage reflects that.
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow talked with NBC correspondent Gadi Schwartz as he covered the peaceful #StopTheSteal demonstration at the Maricopa County Elections Center. The video would be laughable if it wasn’t so sad.
Maddow with a look of grave concern on her face said to Schwartz, that he was,
“in the middle of quite a crowd there”
Schwartz responded, “be kind of hard to see just because we’re not turning on our lights” to avoid being “a distraction out here and there are a lot of people that are very — or they have their emotions running extremely high.”
Schwartz further explained that the Maricopa County Elections Center was where 400,000 outstanding ballots were being counted. As he slowly moved into the crowd of protestors, he said, somberly: “they’re kneeling in prayer.”
Yeah, those dangerous prayer warriors; they might assault him with a Bible. He’d be better off for it.
It reminds me of the narrator on those old Wild Kingdom shows as he watches the wildebeest in their natural habitat, using hushed tones so as not to scare the unpredictable animals.
This would be fascinating if it wasn’t so disingenuous and irritating. The legacy media treats half (or more) of the U.S. population as if they are some misguided other that simply needs to stop being stupid. If only you read the right publications, went to the right schools, didn’t “cling to your guns and religion” blah, blah, blah. Kira Davis wrote a great piece about the Left’s viewpoint and concluded with this:
“A realization that should have set in four years ago is only now beginning to creep into their carefully inflated bubbles…the Left is not the majority. They are merely the Other Half.”
And the Other Half clearly seems intent on painting any protest that is pro-country, pro-freedom, and pro-Trump as scary and dangerous. While not even dropping an eyelash over the months of BLM/Antifa riot fests.
Contrast Rachel Maddow and MSNBC with CNN’s coverage of the BLM/Antifa riot-fest in Kenosha, Wisconsin after the Jacob Blake shooting. There was no one praying, Antifa was too busy throwing bricks into windows. There was no one singing or chanting the national anthem or worship songs, instead they were screaming at the tops of their lungs and lighting other people’s property on fire.
As the flames billowed behind the correspondent, the chryon read “Fiery But Mostly Peaceful Protests after Police Shooting.
I. Kid. You. Not.
This narrative to normalize violent protests as “peaceful”, and then turn around and paint actual peaceful and lawful assembly as “dangerous” and “chilling” is disgusting. It’s like you are peeing on my leg and telling me it’s raining. It is this type of bait-and-switch that makes anyone seeking actual news and facts to tune out. The traditional media is using this same bait-and-switch with feeding Americans election results. That is beyond disgusting, and why people will never trust them or the election process ever again.
Maybe that’s part of the plan.
This last CNN moment involved correspondent Kyung Lah also reporting from Maricopa County. She had a moment with brain-on-steroids Chris Cuomo, where she warned, “I might add, that this crowd is armed. There have been a number of people who have been seen with long guns, with semi-automatic rifles, because this is an open carry state.”
Well, duh. If I was in an open carry state I’d be carrying my gun too! Get out of Manhattan, much? Apparently not.
With this kind of skewed and whackadoo coverage, the legacy media wonders why they cannot get a read on “real” Americans, why they don’t understand the draw of Trump beyond racist/sexist/uneducated white people, and why no one watches their misguided and often dead wrong blather that masquerades as news.
Sister Toldjah said it well:
“What they don’t’ seem to realize is that their base of readers and viewers would be far more expansive if these media outlets simply chose not to continuously insult the intelligence of the average conservative. The fact that they do things like that is one of the reasons trust in the mainstream media is at an all-time low and reader/viewer numbers have declined steadily over the years[…]
Who wants to pay to be insulted?”
