Desperation makes for curious decisions, and when you are a political party that is purely driven by emotion any longer, those odd decisions bring more problems. It has been amusing to watch as the Democrats and the press have lapsed into default anti-Trump mode since he came back into the White House.
Cut Government waste? Hell No! Enforce the immigration laws? Are you kidding?! Okay, but fighting crime in cities is a good idea, right? That is unnecessary politics! Then, we suppose going after billions of dollars in fraud is …THAT'S RACIST!!
I mean, seriously, when you cannot even get on board with ousting a communist dictator like Nicolás Maduro — after years of your party calling for that to happen — you simply have deep problems. But they just continue with this reactionary behavior, and it has, unsurprisingly, led to another self-created problem.
This one has two components involved. The first is the ever-present desire to hang extremist figures around the neck of Republicans. The second is the way the GOP has benefited from new media in the past few years. Now tie those together with the emotion-driven Trump opposition, and you get a fetid cocktail that no one has ordered, but the party gulped down anyway.
SICK.

At a rally for Michigan Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, Hasan Piker compares America to Nazi Germany and President Trump to Adolf Hitler.

This has led to the Democrats, the Left, and the press latching on to the disturbing media figure Hasan Piker. For the uninitiated (and congrats on living a proper life if you are in that category), Piker is a media influencer who is an avowed communist, a vocal supporter of terrorist groups, and even has dog abuse as a disqualifying character trait. So, OF COURSE he has been embraced by Democrats!
Piker was recently part of the contingent that flew into Cuba to “help” the citizens there. He did so by sucking up the scant bandwidth available, was constantly video streaming from a luxury resort while residents had no electricity, and was part of a bus convoy touring the countryside when the country was ground to a halt due to no gasoline available. All the while, he was touting the magnificence of the communist regime that was delivering this hardship on the people.
Now, any thinking individual would look at any one of Piker’s traits and realize it would be best to sashay away from him. But he is also a voice critical of the administration, with a sizeable following, and this was all that was needed for Democrats to rush to curry favor from him. An anti-Trumper with a large audience?! The Democrats were less subtle than a Mid-West escort flown into Vegas during a plumbers convention.
They did this, despite his Communist bona fides. (Okay, in all honesty, this probably appealed to a great deal of the Donkeys.) He has long been a pro-Palestine voice. He has nuzzled up with Zohran Mamdani, despite his past of saying the U.S. had it coming with the 9/11 attacks. The more amazing aspect is that the party jumped into Piker’s lap like a desperate Yorkie, all while straining to accuse Republicans of courting extremists.
A sign of trouble was evident when an intentional effort was made to clear Piker’s name. He was brought on the Democrat-pimping podcast “Pod Save America,” sitting in with Jon Favreau, the designated Democrat Party custodian. Favreau previously was charged with the task of cleaning up the reputation of Nazi Tattoo artist Graham Plattner. Now Obama’s former speechwriter was tasked with taking solvents and bleach to the image of Piker, but hilariously, the terror-loving commie was having none of it.
FAVREAU: "When you say Hamas is a thousand times better, do you actually mean that? Or is it that a rhetorical move? Or a solidarity signal…?"
PIKER: “It’s all of the above. I DO mean it.”

For months now, Democrats and the press have tried to insist that the GOP has made their party fertile ground for the noted supremacist and antisemite, Nick Fuentes, and his un-merry band of bros, dubbed the Groypers. I covered how the press was so desperate as to insist that a candidate in Florida’s gubernatorial race, who is a Fuentes acolyte, represents the positions of Republicans.
SEE: There Is a Groyper Candidate for Florida Governor Who Is Extremely Popular – With the Press
There are numerous problems with this wet noodle effort. This candidate, James Fishback, is roundly ignored in that state, and Fuentes has since come out and declared he is anti-Trump and encouraged his incel army to vote Democrat. Most of all, you find no Republicans rushing to the side of Fuentes and appearing on his program.
The same cannot be said of Democrats and Piker. Dem Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) has been on a tear lately, looking to earn the crown as one of the least gifted thinkers in Congress (Mazie Hirono (D-HI), you have been put on notice!) Khanna appeared on Piker’s show, and the dense Democrat not only is unapologetic about sitting in with the Hamas fanboy, but he also said he would be willing to go back on.
Also, we have just been served a prime example of the struggle on the Left over Piker. The New York Times has even fallen prey to the default support of this goober. In an opinion penned by Ezra Klein, they went with a Hasan-supportive headline, but then apparently somebody got to them. The paper stealth-edited the column header.

This serves as the perfect exemplar of the problems Piker brings to the party. After the 2024 election loss, Ezra was essentially tabbed to be one of the Democrats’ leaders, and if he cannot get this issue with Piker straight, it says everything about how tied up in a Gordian knot the general party is over things.
This is the lost condition of the Democrat Party these days, as well as the press. Previously, if a Republican happened to utter a phrase that used a word once spoken by a noted supremacist four decades ago, that was definitive proof they were Hitler, and the GOP was the Nazi Party.
Meanwhile, they were content to let their Underoos hit the floor for a Marxist terrorist backer with 9-11 pom-poms, and nobody was supposed to notice. Watching Democrats attempting to extricate themselves from this relationship would make for perfect afternoon syndicated television talk show panels.
