We have finally reached the date when the book “Original Sin” by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson of Axios has gone on sale to the general public. We have been detailing now how for the past week there have been segments of the book pouring out and a deluge of interpretations from the media who have been implicated over the coverage of Joe Biden’s mental state.
What has been stark to see is Jake Tapper promoting his book with a series of revisionist history attempts. There was his declaration that the press did not do enough to explore the matter, while there were copious examples of him glossing over Biden’s state of mind. He has castigated the White House over spin regarding the president that his own network engaged in. He condemned those who criticized the “heroic” reporting of the Wall Street Journal, even though his own coverage at the time was critical of the report.
Again, all of this took place over the past week, which is significant for a reason we are going to explain. With each revelation there have been layers of issues emerging, as Tapper himself has come under focus, but also the media environment has been shown to have been lax, error-prone, or outright lying in regards to Biden’s condition. As more gets exposed the worse the press looks – and that involves Tapper directly.
As a result, he might be experiencing a credibility hit in real time. The Nielsen cable news ratings have come out for Monday and there is a very telling result. In CNN’s 6:00 p.m. timeslot, you find “The Lead With Jake Tapper,” and this week we can see a significant drop-off in the audience in a key measurement.
Some early evidence @JakeTapper may not be not benefit from the release of his book and could be taking a credibility hit.

After one week of steady promotion ahead of the book release, his own show saw him losing nearly 1/3 of the core demographic after that time.

That is a rather significant plummet taking place, and the significance is seen in the week-to-week comparison. Losing nearly 10 percent of viewers and the 29 percent loss in the key demo took place during this whirlwind promotional tour. Jake appears to be experiencing a reaction to the way his own reporting has become exposed, and how CNN has also been repeatedly shown to be engaged in the very activity he is today criticizing.
One of the primary critiques over this whole book experience, along with the flurry of other books that have come out, is that the supposed record is being written by the very same sources who were complicit in covering up the Biden condition. People see this as publishers turning to the people guilty of journalistic malpractice with lucrative book deals. It is not sitting well with the public.
These early ratings figures are very preliminary, but they could also be revealing. As Jake gets more exposed it adds to the disquieting feeling that we have seen the people getting rewarded after committing that journalism malpractice.
Editor's Note: The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie.
