Stop me if you've heard this one before. The Department of Justice and the FBI open a baseless, manufactured investigation into Republican officeholders that ends with them being spied on. No, I'm not talking about Operation Crossfire Hurricane, otherwise known as the Russia collusion hoax. I'm talking about Operation Arctic Frost, which targeted the communications of numerous GOP senators under then-special counsel Jack Smith.
Hey, at least the names sound cool, I guess.

But once that revelation came to the fore, the next question was how deep the conspiracy went. Was it just Smith's office that pushed forward with such an egregious weaponization of the government against Democratic Party political opponents? Or did it go higher up the food chain? According to a memo of authorization that Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) obtained, it went much higher.
Just received this doc frm DOJ Proof that Biden Atty General Merrick Garland+ Deputy Atty General Lisa Monaco+ FBI Dir Chris Wray all PERSONALLY APPROVED opening Arctic Frost

This investigation unleashed unchecked govt power at the highest levels My oversight will continue pic.twitter.com/atuRnC8ara
The two biggest names that signed off on this were then-AG Merrick Garland and then-FBI Dir. Christopher Wray. To be sure, though, there is no chance Joe Biden himself wasn't aware of what was happening. This was too sensitive a matter for anyone within his administration to be acting unilaterally.
What was the predicate to undertake such a drastic violation? There wasn't one. Heck, in the case of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), he didn't even end up voting against certification regarding the 2020 electoral votes. But Biden, Garland, Wray, and Smith, among others, seemed to be trying to find some evidence that Trump had hatched an elaborate conspiracy to overturn the election that involved high-level Republican senators. That was, of course, not the case.
The thing is, none of the senators in question did anything outside the bounds of congressional procedure. Agree or disagree, contesting certification on the floor is a part of the system. Democrats have done the same numerous times in the past, but that didn't earn them being spied on by a federal investigation. That type of weaponization of the justice system was novel to the Biden administration, and it was done by a group of people who saw themselves as so incredibly righteous, they could abuse the law to "save democracy."
Those chickens are now coming home to roost. The indictment of James Comey is only the first of several shoes to drop regarding Crossfire Hurricane, and those who perpetrated Arctic Frost will likely not be spared either. In a way, it's sad that it's come to this. There were actual boundaries in place, and Democrats chose to tear them down because they truly thought they could secure power indefinitely if they succeeded. They didn't, though, and you know what they say about coming at the king: You'd best not miss.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
