Democrat members of the House have released a new "Choose Your Fighter" promotional video, and Republicans should be terrified...that they'll die from laughter. 

In it, an all-female cast of congressional Democrats and one "Bento Box Queen" (sorry, I'm out of the loop on who Suhlee Jessica Woo is) can be seen mimicking a video game's "player selection" screen, bobbing up and down, holding their fists up. Underneath each person are several bullet points, some denoting racial characteristics while others are supposed to be playful references. For example, did you know Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is a "trekkie" or that Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is "not a morning person?"

Surely, Republicans are finished after this.

Someone really should have helped Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA) out with her form because it's, in a word, regrettable. One of my favorite parts of the video, though, is what it reveals about the egos of some of the members. Why am I supposed to care that Ocasio-Cortez is the "Youngest woman + Latina to be elected to the House" or that Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA) is the "First Chinese-American elected to Congress?" It's 2025. None of these racial qualifiers are impressive or interesting. 

What this video does show is why any attempted reset by the Democratic Party isn't going to work. On Tuesday night, we saw Sen. Elissa Slotkin (MI) give the response to President Donald Trump's congressional address, and you might have thought she was a Republican for half of it. It was full of language about the working class, bringing down prices, and even praised Ronald Reagan. No one believed a word she said, though, because it was obvious the deranged behavior we saw on the House floor during Trump's address is the real Democratic Party.

And that's the thing with this video. Ocasio-Cortez, Crockett, and the like are never going to sit idly by while their party puts on a moderate face and attempts a course correction back to the middle. They have too much invested in their own radicalism, which has greatly elevated their public profiles (much to the delight of Republicans). Does anyone think any of them are going to stop going on CNN and MSNBC to sound like total lunatics? Or that they'll stop releasing silly promotional videos that make themselves the face of the Democratic Party? 

The monsters have already been created, and their creators are either out of office now or have no power to control them anymore. Keep in mind that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) begged his members not to act like complete idiots during Trump's speech. Yet, they didn't even let the president make it through his first paragraph before they tried to shut the entire event down, leading to the Sergeant at Arms having to get involved to restore order. 

Democrats are stuck with these people. They run the show. They are the faces of the party. There will be no pivot. 

President Trump's speech to a joint session of Congress has radical Democrats in panic mode, and their childish protests won't stop all of the winning.
