The Reason Joe Biden Finally Acknowledged His Granddaughter Makes the Situation Even Worse

As RedState reported, after four long years, Joe Biden has finally acknowledged the existence of his seventh grandchild. In one of the most morally depraved actions by a president in modern history, the elder Biden routinely proclaimed he only had six grandchildren, even going so far as to direct staff to repeat the same falsehood.

In one instance, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked how many grandchildren the president has. Astonishingly, she actually refused to answer the question by stating, “I don’t have anything to share from here.”

The grandchild in question, Navy Roberts, was disowned by Hunter Biden before she was even born, with the president’s son shunning the mother’s attempts to maintain a connection to the Biden family. After that, a court battle ensued, beginning with a forced paternity test and ending with a settlement that denied the child from even using the Biden last name.

It wasn’t until July of 2023 that Joe Biden finally decided to acknowledge his seventh grandchild in a robotic statement to People Magazine. The White House then demanded privacy as many speculated that the president’s cratering poll numbers had played a role in the reversal.

But now, a new report is shedding light on why Joe Biden disowned his granddaughter for so long, and it only makes the situation worse. Apparently, the president was waiting for the “green light” from Hunter Biden.

In recent weeks, President Joe Biden realized that his silence was no longer tenable — that it was time for him to publicly recognize his 4-year-old granddaughter caught up in a bitter child support case involving his son Hunter Biden, people familiar with the matter said.

But before he could do so, he wanted to take one final step: getting the “green light” from his son, which he received last week, one source said. And on Friday, Biden finally spoke out about his seventh grandchild whom, for years, he wouldn’t so much as acknowledge in public.

I’m just in awe after reading that paragraph. Hunter Biden is a crack-addled abuser who has spent his life taking advantage of others, in some cases criminally. What kind of moral degenerate would give a person like that deference over an innocent four-year-old?

Never in a million years, if I were in a similar situation, would I be looking to my influence-peddling son to give me permission to have a relationship with my own granddaughter. Certainly, I wouldn’t wait around for him to tell me it’s okay to acknowledge her existence. No non-sociopath operates that way.

Further, what does all of this say about Joe Biden’s relationship with his son and the Bidens in general? We are talking about a family already knee-deep in allegations of corruption. Is there a reason Joe Biden was keen to do what his son demanded, up to and including ignoring the existence of a grandchild? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Of course, now that Joe Biden has taken the plunge, he wants to turn it into a PR win because everything is about politics for the president.

Now, the president wants to meet little Navy Joan Roberts of Arkansas and dispel the notion that he was ignoring a vulnerable member of the Biden family tree that is at the root of his political identity, according to the people familiar with the matter.

The idea that Joe Biden was ignoring his granddaughter is not a “notion.” It was a reality for four years, even as he was pressed on the issue again and again. I’m glad he’s finally gotten around to trying to have a relationship with her, but pretending he’s doing something heroic this late in the game is laughable.

That the media continues to defend Joe Biden regarding this situation is disheartening. No Republican politician could get away with this without being drowned by a deluge of justifiably bad press. Joe Biden continues to get a pass, and it’s untenable.
