A woman has reportedly been denied cancer treatment at a Portland area hospital after she criticized the facility’s public presentation of a “transgender flag.”
The woman in question, identified only as Marlene to protect her, sent a message to Libs of TikTok, a popular social media account that documents transgender insanity. The message was originally sent to someone at Oregon Health and Science University after what appears to be numerous prior communications with staff there.

Does Marlene seem a little forward and hostile in her complaint? Perhaps, but I’d also suggest that someone suffering from cancer should be given leeway in such a situation. She clearly didn’t like the transgender flag being pushed on her and felt like it was insulting in light of her being targeted by transgender activists in the past (a common theme in today’s political environment). I don’t find that out of bounds at all, and if this was just one of many messages, her frustration is understandable.
Given Portland’s progressive pedigree, you’d think the hospital staff would have sympathy for Marlene, but being a woman falls well below being transgender on the intersectional hierarchy of the left. That means that transgender ideology takes precedence over any notion of actual women existing as a distinct demographic.
The last paragraph in Marlene’s message is correct. No one asked women if they wanted to be erased in order to appease the delusions of people who believe they can change their gender. Yet, they are not only being forced to tolerate such treatment but they are being told they must be submissive to the ideology as well. Besides, why does a hospital need to hang a transgender flag in the reception area anyway? What does transgenderism have to do with treating cancer?
According to Marlene, she was told to seek “re-education” for her perfectly reasonable views. That echoes the non-negotiable offering of “counseling services” to teammates of Lia Thomas who objected to him swimming on the women’s team at the University of Pennsylvania. It’s the same story every time. Instead of trying to treat the mental illness of those claiming to be a different gender, they treat those who subscribe to reality as the crazy ones in need of treatment.
Regardless, it’d be one thing if the hospital in question rebuffed Marlene’s complaints, but instead, they kicked her out of the hospital completely, denying her further care. The discharge letter isn’t ambiguous either. It accuses Marlene of making “hurtful” and “disrespectful” remarks about the hospital’s “LGBTQ community and staff.” It goes on to ban her from all related facilities effective 7/29/2023.
Expect to hear a lot more of these stories in the future. While most Americans remain grounded in reality when it comes to the truth about transgender ideology, the vast majority of institutions within the country are militantly defensive of it. That includes the medical establishment, which has led the way in denying science to affirm mental illness at the expense of others, especially women. As I’ve said before, there’s only one way out of this, and that’s rejecting transgender ideology completely. If you give an inch, it’s already over.
