With the Hunter Biden laptop being “confirmed” this week by Politico (I put confirmed in quotes because it was clear they were real from the beginning), the son of the president is receiving a touch of fresh scrutiny. And while it’s inevitable that the media will punt the story again and instead continue to write glowing profiles about the con artist-in-chief, for the moment, we are getting some interesting revelations.
Business Insider obtained emails that didn’t come from the infamous laptop, and what they show is Hunter Biden running a con involving Libya. Further, they show rank influence-peddling that, if it isn’t illegal, should be.
While we’ve had numerous examples of Hunter Biden’s corruption, this is likely the most detailed inside look at the sausage being made.
NEW: Hunter Biden asked for a retainer of, um, $2 million per year, plus 'success fees', to help unfreeze money belonging to the Libyan govt. This was 2015, while his father was still VP. Read the emails here… https://t.co/yF6JVpm1xG

Here’s one of the emails, which lists all the “positives” (and negatives) Hunter Biden can supposedly bring this prospective client in regards to getting the money unfrozen. It’s thorough, down to naming the influential people within the US government that can be brought to bear.
The email is written by Sam Jauhari, who was acting as a liaison for Hunter Biden to set the deal up.
Per phone conversation I met with #2 son. He wants $2 per year retainer +++ success fees. He wants to hire his own people – it can be close circle of people for confidentiality. His dad is deciding to run or not.
His positives are he is Chairman of UN World Food Program, son of #2 who has Libya file, access to State, Treasury, business partner SofS [Secretary of State] J. [John] Forbes K [Kerry] son and since he travels with dad he is connected everywhere in Europe and Asia where M. Q. [Muammar Qaddafi] and LIA [Libya Investment Authority] had money frozen. He said he has access to highest level in PRC [China], he can help there.
His negatives are that he is alcoholic, drug addict – kicked [out] of U.S. Army for cocaine, chasing low class hookers, constantly needs money-liquidity problems and many more headaches.
We should meet in Gstraad or London to decide next steps.
Hunter Biden was asking for $2 million upfront as a “retainer.” He also wanted an undisclosed amount if he succeeded in using his influence with the government, which his father was vice president of, to unfreeze the money in question. Also important to note is that Hunter Biden is promising access to the Chinese government as well. That corroborates much of what has been reported in regards to his connections with the communist government.
A second email reveals that the deal continued to be pursued into 2016, with Hunter Biden offering his services as long as the group stayed “small.”
I spoke with HB’s team yesterday. They are interested in the project, but emphasized that for them to get involved, the team (lobbyists, lawyers and PR) would need to be a small group of folks they have a tight relationship with. They do not want a large group involved and they only want people with whom they have a close relationship with due to the sensitivities surrounding their involvement.
In the end, this specific deal fell through, but I don’t see how that really matters. A con artist who has a con fail doesn’t become any less of a con artist. What these emails reveal is rank corruption promoting numerous “connections,” including with Joe Biden who is claimed to have a “Libya file,” to get the US government to take action that would benefit the Biden family. Again, if that’s not illegal, it should be.
But what is probably illegal is attempting to do all this while not being a registered foreign agent. As we learned during the Donald Trump era, FARA laws do exist. And though they only seem to be applied to Republicans with connections to Trump, Hunter Biden was obviously operating as a foreign agent, not just in this case, but in many different cases involving the Chinese, Ukrainians, and others.
If the FBI and DOJ, which are currently investigating Hunter Biden, have an ounce of integrity left, they’ll drop the hammer. I wouldn’t hold your breath, though.
As to the politics of this, Joe Biden is not going to run for re-election. Heck, I’m not sure he makes it through his first term. Therefore, the cover-up of Hunter Biden’s corruption (and possibly his father’s) that happened prior to the 2020 election served its purpose. Joe Biden is president likely because the media and social media colluded to ensure these stories stayed buried until they were no longer politically damaging. That makes writing about these issues all the more frustrating.
