Educated Idiots: Hundreds of Anti-Israel Stanford Students Walk Out on Graduation

If you ever wonder why so many Americans have lost the plot and are spending their time denouncing America and pushing the failed ideology of socialism, you don’t need to look much farther than our system of higher education. What was once the envy of the world has become in many institutions a hotbed of wokeism, progressive dogma, and far-left indoctrination.

Numerous “elite” schools such as NYU, UCLA, and Columbia were exposed as bastions of antisemitism and hate following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack against Israel, where protesters were allowed to take over campuses, harass and intimidate Jewish students, and cheer for terrorists. On Sunday, the pro-Hamas crowd was at it again, and at the prestigious Stanford University in Silicon Valley, California, they were too soft to even listen to the commencement speech by Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

Instead, dozens walked out:

Why are they so upset with Pichai and Google? Because the tech giant does business with Israel:

Videos circulating on social media showed more than 100 students leaving their seats at Stanford Stadium while chanting, “Free, free Palestine.”

The protest was organized by far-left groups including Students for Justice in Palestine and No Tech for Apartheid.

They have previously posted images mourning the death of influencers in Gaza who have openly celebrated the Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

The protest seemed to be a mishmash of leftist causes — including anti-ICE sentiment — but the focus of many seemed to be on Google’s AI work with the Jewish state:

The protest is the latest chapter in a yearslong controversy surrounding Google’s involvement in Project Nimbus, a $1.2 billion cloud computing contract jointly held with Amazon to provide cloud and artificial intelligence services to the Israeli government.

Critics, including some employees and pro-Palestinian activists, argue the technology could be used by Israel’s military and security agencies in ways that harm Palestinians.

Google has maintained that the contract is for government cloud services and has repeatedly defended its work.

As our Nick Arama reported, comedian Jerry Seinfeld recently had an epic response to a pro-Palestinian harasser following a New York Knicks NBA finals game: “It doesn’t exist.”

I’m not sure what the students were attempting to accomplish, but they probably assured one thing: they’ll never get a job in Silicon Valley.

Pichai, for his part, was undeterred and managed to bring a note of optimism to the affair:

There are many things one could complain about regarding Google — including their notorious censorship efforts during the COVID era — but working with Israel isn’t one of them. You get the feeling that if the company weren’t working with Israel, these woke students would find something else to protest, because that’s what many of these universities have become: factories of the disenchanted.
