In December of 2025, meanwhile, the Office of Personnel Management launched Tech Force, a program to attract the top data engineers, programmers, and AI specialists to the administration to modernize government operations.

They want to get young tech geniuses who want to serve their country and boost their career prospects along the way:

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and NASA announced NASA Force on Wednesday, a dedicated talent track within the US Tech Force initiative designed to recruit and deploy the nation’s top engineers and technologists to support America’s space program.

NASA Force will identify and place high-impact technical talent into mission-critical roles supporting NASA’s exploration, research, and advanced technology priorities, ensuring the agency has the cutting-edge expertise needed to maintain U.S. leadership in space.

I would apply to NASA Force, but I barely passed calculus, and nowadays would struggle to explain what it even does. I can ask AI to make cool pictures, but I sure as heck couldn’t program it.
