Things I didn’t expect to read today: former President Barack Obama criticizing progressive Democrat policies and the havoc they’ve wrought on our cities. Yet there he was, appearing on YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen’s podcast posted Monday, saying that the Los Angeles homelessness problem is “morally — ethically speaking… an atrocity.”
Newsflash, Barry — conservatives have been trying to tell that to you and your Democrat friends for years. Nice of you to weigh in now:
"I think it is morally — ethically speaking — it is an atrocity that in a country this wealthy, we have people just on the streets, and we should insist on policies that recognize their full humanity — people who are houseless — and be able to provide them with the help and resources that they need," Obama said.
"We should recognize that the average person doesn’t want to have to navigate around a tent city in the middle of downtown," he added. "That’s a losing political strategy."
No lie, Sherlock.
Unfortunately, for sane Californians, that “losing” strategy has not impeded LA Mayor Karen Bass and CA Gov. Gavin Newsom from destroying the state, because somehow they keep managing to get elected.
Here’s Barack with his Captain Obvious moment:

But we should also recognize that the average person doesn't want to have to navigate around a tent city in the middle of downtown.
I’d love to have watched the faces of Bass and Newsom as they watched this. Obama, probably still the most popular figure in the Democratic Party, is basically saying that they're utterly incompetent.

An Anti-Newsom Super Bowl Ad Is the Prick Needed to Deflate Gavin's Massive Ego
I wonder what caused this epidemic of homelessness? Let’s see… perhaps throwing billions of freebies at homeless people and illegal immigrants, creating a sanctuary state, advocating for a soft-on-crime policing and prosecution policies, demonizing law enforcement, refusing to enforce basic laws, and other such policies led to the exploding homeless population?
It doesn’t take Albert Einstein or Grok to understand that the root of the problem is progressive policies — Democrat policies. The very kind Barack Obama has pushed for years.
Did you ever call out Joe Biden, Barack?
America sees staggering increase in homelessness under Biden with an 18.1% increase this year.

Proving that he is no closer to “getting it” than he ever was, the onetime community activist argued that the only way the scourge could be defeated was by giving the Democrats more power:
That doesn't mean that we care less about those folks.
It means if we really care about them, then we got to try to figure out how do we gain majority support and be practical in terms of what we can get through at this moment in time and build on those victories.
But Democrats own virtually every top political post in the Golden State, and look what they’ve done to the place. Make it make sense, Mr. Obama — how would even more of the same solve anything?
This is the same guy who would tell you that Kamala Harris is a quality presidential candidate and that you should vote for her. He’s lost all credibility, and for him to be crying about the results of terrible Democrat policies is just a little too rich.
You’re a little late in sounding the alarm now, dude.
Editor's Note: Gavin Newsom, Karen Bass, and the “progressives” are ruining California.
