DHS (Homeland Security) Sec. Markwayne Mullin, in his remarks during a press conference on Friday, laid out the next steps for our nation to secure free and fair elections, in the wake of President Trump's address to the American people, and release of the declassified docs, on Thursday evening.
Sec. Mullin pointed out some of the damning information they have been able to cull from voter rolls, which was shared in the initial release of documents:
.@SecMullinDHS: "We've identified 250,000 noncitizens registered to vote in just four states... We also worked with proactive states to identify 28,000 noncitizens on their voter rolls, PLUS 400,000 individuals that are still registered to vote that are deceased." pic.twitter.com/FPF7nFUi5B

As he points out, "we have 46 other states" where we don't have the numbers on this yet.

A big part of the solution, the secretary said, will be every state government agreeing to partner with the administration to tighten up the security of the machines to protect them from "foreign adversaries," and cleaning up voter rolls:
.@SecMullinDHS: "We know for sure that our foreign adversaries, not our allies... have parts that are vital pieces in our voting machines. We know that they can access what they consider the 'key' to the back of these machines. We know they can change voter registration, and your… pic.twitter.com/ZJf64KGMzY

.@SecMullinDHS: "We know for sure that our foreign adversaries, not our allies... have parts that are vital pieces in our voting machines. We know that they can access what they consider the 'key' to the back of these machines. We know they can change voter registration, and your vote. We know it's possible. There's not a question. It's not even up for debate... What we are saying is that every state should partner with us to work to secure this."
Mullin said that it won't be voluntary:
"Working with [Commerce Secretary Howard] Lutnick, we are going to make our security enhancements mandatory. Meaning that, if these states want a grant, and they want to be reimbursed to run federal elections, they are going to have to implement security issues. [sic]...We're saying that the machines have to be secured."
That's something the Justice Department (DOJ) isn't letting up on, as we've written about, with some blue states filing lawsuits while refusing to turn over voter roll data, so issues can be fixed.

Mullin also went after the Biden administration and the intelligence community for trying to hide the information from not only the President of the United States but Congress- something that should never happen:
.@SecMullinDHS: "We know that Iran hacked our state voter files and attempted to compromise our systems where military members use to vote... what's frustrating again in this is that the Biden administration knew this and our Intel Community knew this... they withheld this… pic.twitter.com/rqH0r8EetM

.@SecMullinDHS: "We know that Iran hacked our state voter files and attempted to compromise our systems where military members use to vote... what's frustrating again in this is that the Biden administration knew this and our Intel Community knew this... they withheld this information from the public, they withheld it from Congress. That should NEVER happen again, and because of @POTUS' leadership, we're not allowing that to happen."
He continued, saying that as the Trump administration is working to expose the problems, and there are "really easy steps" to make sure U.S. elections are free, fair, and secure for every legal voter - regardless of party affiliation:
.@SecMullinDHS: "President Trump is correct when he said that election security is national security... this is just exposing what took place and to make sure it never happens again—and there's some really easy steps that can be taken to secure our elections, and it shouldn't be… pic.twitter.com/0TXuWPRhf7

"President Trump is correct when he said that election security is national security... this is just exposing what took place and to make sure it never happens again—and there's some really easy steps that can be taken to secure our elections.
"And it shouldn't be a partisan issue. This should be something that every American, regardless if you're a Republican, you're a Democrat, you're an Independent, you're a Libertarian; regardless if you live in a blue state or live in a red state. Everybody should know that their vote counts, and we have individuals voting who shouldn't be. It cancels out someone that should be."
It's as simple as that. Anyone who stands in the way of every legal vote counting in our elections should be held accountable for their actions, period. Good to see the administration putting the pressure on through withholding money to some of these areas.
Editor's Note: The Democrats are doing everything in their power to undermine the integrity of our elections.
