This simply should not happen as someone is taking their baby in his or her stroller on a walk in the neighborhood where they live - not in New York, not in any city in the United States.
A 7-month-old girl was shot dead in her stroller by a stray bullet while walking with her parents in Brooklyn, with cops now looking for a pair of moped-riding thugs, according to law enforcement sources.
The family was strolling near Humboldt and Moore streets early in the afternoon when the shots rang out, and the two suspected gunmen sped off — with a person of interest now in custody, the sources said.
The tot’s mom heard the shots and rushed her daughter into a nearby bodega — then looked down at the stroller and saw the blood, according to the sources.
The infant, taken by ambulance to a local hospital, was pronounced dead there just before 2 PM Eastern. It's unknown at the time of this writing whether or not the baby's parents were the targets of the suspected perpetrators.

The shocking story comes the same day as my colleague Bob Hoge wrote on the awful developing story from the commonwealth of Virginia, in which a man has been charged with allegedly murdering his own infant. Oh, and he isn't a "Virginia father" any more than I am, something the legacy media is loathe to honestly put in its headlines.

But it was the heartwrenching reaction by the infant's mother, according to a witness who only gave her name as "Ms. Jones," that is particularly tough to take—at least by anyone with a heart for the innocents ravaged by crime and violence left unchecked in blue cities across the country:
“I heard someone say, ‘My baby, my baby.’ She was just like ‘Save my baby, save my baby,” Jones said. “She was trying to tell her baby to wake up, telling the baby to wake up.”
“The police started coming in. There was so much chaos. I heard the beep. Once I heard the beep, I knew it was flatlining and the baby was gone,” the witness added.
“They came and told the mother and she went crazy. She lost it. Then the last thing I heard her say was, ‘No, no, no!’ She was just screaming out, ‘No. I can’t believe this.”
At last report, law enforcement officials were questioning a person of interest, who has not been charged. They also reportedly recovered the moped, but the two men seen riding it remain at large.
The city's current mayor, Democrat socialiat Zohran Mamadi made the usual statement on it being... a shame and all, that it's heartbreaking ... as part of a presser on something else, reportedly:
“It is a tragedy that this baby was shot and killed, and soon after this press conference I’ll be joining our police commissioner to brief the media and the public.
"Our hearts break for this family.”
Another witness, Vincent Valcissel, lays it at the feet of Mamdani and his fellow radical leftists in power in NYC, telling The NY Post in the story linked above
“It’s disgusting. It’s disgusting. This is what these people get voting blue. If the National Guard was out here, this wouldn’t have happened."
And he's exactly right on where the blame lies on this disgusting situation. You did not see this under the man who was once called America's Mayor, Rudy Giuliani in the 1980s. Americans need to urge their family members and friends in those cities to take to the polls in the midterms - or at the next convenient opportunity - and vote these people out of office for their families' well-being and safekeeping.
