In the wake of U.S. President Joe Biden's phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Gaza, Secretary of State Antony Blinken reacted during a press conference in Brussels on Thursday:
If the United States does not see changes in Israel’s policies to protect civilians in Gaza, “there’ll be changes in our own policy,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in Brussels after the call.[...]
“Israel is not Hamas,” Blinken said. “Israel is a democracy, Hamas a terrosirst [sic] organization. And democracies place the highest value on human life - every human life.
Last we checked, Hamas was also the elected government in Gaza, giving them some responsibility, too. But apparently Antony Blinken and Joe Biden think that responsibility is a one-way street in Gaza.
