The Trump administration, through Secretary of State Marco Rubio, is hammering the communist regime running Cuba again, pressing the communist government to throw in the towel and set Cuba free. In the latest brick to fall in, on Thursday Secretary Rubio announced that the United States was slapping sanctions on several entities and persons affiliated with the Cuban government.

Rubio writes:
The Cuban Communist regime continues to exploit its people and serve as the leading sponsor of radical leftism and political violence in our hemisphere. Today, I designated nine entities and two individuals associated with the dictatorship, including four malign actors profiting from the exploitation and forced labor of the regime’s overseas medical brigades and a sanctions evasion network associated with the kleptocratic military conglomerate, GAESA.
Anyone supporting, sponsoring, or providing services to these sanctioned actors is at risk of being sanctioned themselves. Foreign banks and other companies that provide services to, or hold funds for, these entities should suspend those activities immediately.
There's a press release linked to SECSTATE's X post that states in part:
These designations include four entities associated with sanctions evasion efforts linked to U.S.-designated Grupo De Administración Empresarial S.A. (GAESA), three entities operating in Cuba’s energy sector, and two entities and two individuals responsible for the exploitation and forced labor of Cuban medical workers through the regime’s overseas medical brigades.
There's a web being woven around the Cuban communists, and it's tightening.

In Venezuela, the United States sent special-operations troops in the middle of the night to retrieve the thug-dictator Nicolas Maduro and bring him to America, to face charges for which he had been indicted. In Iran, we are dealing with that problem with the suitable application of high explosives. Neither of these should be necessary for Cuba, not if we can squash them by hitting them repeatedly in the pocketbook.
With any luck at all, the Cuban commies will be dropped into, as Marx might have worded it, the ash-heap of history. There's no reason for Cuba, for the Cuban people, to suffer under the remains of Castro's legacy. This is an island that should be prosperous, even wealthy, just from tourism alone, if nothing else. It commands a gorgeous corner of the Caribbean. In years past, it was a popular vacation spot for Americans and others; Ernest Hemingway maintained a residence there and was very fond of Cuba, which was the setting of many of his novels and short stories.
This could be the case again. Clearly, the Trump administration sees it that way. And Secretary of State Rubio, who is of Cuban descent himself, may be the ideal person to push this process through to the end.
