Most of us have spent our entire lives watching the decline of Cuba. What was once a tropical playground for movie stars and mobsters is now a hellhole for the citizens. Constant shortages and almost 70 years of communist oppression have taken their toll on the people. It is unclear as yet what President Donald Trump's plan is for the failing Cuban government, but at least for right now, if your name is Castro, that doesn't matter.
CUBA | Fidel Castro's 33-year-old grandson Sandro Castro says "the majority of Cubans want to be capitalist, not communist."

Recently, Sandro Castro, grandson of the late Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro, took to social media to promote an extravagant beach party in Varadero. The beach bash, according to Cuban digital news service "Cibercuba," was a weekend-long affair, beginning on Saturday with lunch, sunset at the Varadero Marina, a “hotel tour to say hello to friends,” followed by a nighttime beach party, and an after-party cocktail party.
Sunday's activities included jet ski activities and a seafood menu meant to “kill the hungover.” The Castro extravaganza also coincided with a 72-hour-long, music festival called "Summer Kickoff 2K26."

Sandro Castro, a self-described filmmaker, "content creator," and "influencer," claims that having the last name of Castro afforded him no special treatment growing up in the communist Castro regime. Who believes that? However, he has bragged about his extravagant lifestyle on social media while his family has reduced the citizens of the island nation to all but starving slaves to the oppressive regime.
The young Castro relative may not have gotten any special treatment from the communist party. But he appears to be the only Cuban whose time is not preoccupied with survival, to invent an alter ego for himself. The mega-party show schedule was called "The path of Vampirach." "Vampirach" is a vampire who hydrates by only drinking Cristal Beer, a brand seized by the Castro regime.
Part of Castro's social media post read, “Things are getting good, stay tuned." Of course, they are if you are in Cuba and your name happens to be Castro. If you are just an average Cuban citizen, not so much.
Cuba's infrastructure is on the verge of collapse. Blackouts can last all day, and the available electricity, or the lack of it, can be the deciding factor on if you eat. Pharmacies are empty, and a gallon of gas costs more than most Cubans' monthly salaries. Cubans describe a "round-the-clock struggle just to survive. There is food, but much of it is unaffordable.
Then there is the mental toll. Cubans are mentally and emotionally exhausted. One man said, “Human values and joy have been lost. You notice more violence and arguments in the streets. People confront each other over a little food,” in the USA Today story linked above.
Secretary Rubio is telling the truth. Decades of socialist rule have left Cuba impoverished while the regime stays in power. President Trump stands with the Cuban people, not the dictatorship. 🇺🇸🇨🇺

But while the Cuban people starve in the dark, the blackouts never seem to hit the hotels like the one where Sandro Castro threw his big shindig.
Raul Castro and @DiazCanelB must go and the whole regime must be dismantled in order for Cuba to be truly free.

There is also no word on who was on the guest list. But if Sandro Castro is a filmmaker, we can probably guess.
