Kamala Harris, who was vice president to the weakest president in American history, is many things: Inarticulate, incompetent, arrogant, and let's face it, not very bright, but none of those things lessen the fact that she also has a sense of self-entitlement the size of the Crab Nebula and a penchant for proving that the Dunning-Kruger effect is real any time she makes a public appearance.
Her latest? There are now reports that she is demanding the Democratic National Committee (DNC) publicly release the results of their 2024 presidential election autopsy. We remember that as the election in which Kamala, after her anointment as the candidate by the DNC, was absolutely crushed by a resurgent Donald John Trump. And Kamala reportedly wants that document released?
As former Vice President Kamala Harris considers another run for president, she is also signaling that she has no problem with a public airing of what went wrong last time — telling donors she believes the Democratic National Committee should release its buried autopsy of her failed 2024 campaign, according to a person who has heard the conversations.
While she indicated to donors that she had no issue with releasing it, Harris has not discussed the postmortem with DNC Chairman Ken Martin and did not know about his decision to keep it under wraps until it happened, this person said.
OK, let's rein in the schadenfreude; a statement from an anonymous source is too often worth less than the pixels it is printed on.
But then, there's this:
Harris has privately sought counsel from allies about her future, and she publicly acknowledged at a National Action Network event in New York last month that she is “thinking about” another bid. Harris lost the electoral vote to Donald Trump in 2024, 312-226, and the popular vote by 1.5 percentage points.
The subject of the autopsy’s release has grown into a flash point in the party, and it is dogging Martin, who had promised to conduct a comprehensive review of the defeat and share it with the public. Neither Martin nor the DNC responded to a request for comment.
A discussion over the intraparty drama comes as Harris is sounding out friends and party luminaries about what she should do in the run-up to 2028.
So, she's thinking about another presidential run, which, unless she has her personality surgically removed and replaced with a more appealing personality, is doomed to end up like 2024: A landslide Republican victory.

Personality transplants notwithstanding, we don't need any 2024 campaign autopsy to know what happened. Kamala Harris was, simply, the worst possible candidate at the worst possible time. She was the understudy to a befuddled incompetent who lit a fire under inflation, crushed our economy, spiked energy costs, and threw open our nation's borders to all comers, no matter where they were from, and millions came in, unscreened. Speaking of the border, Kamala Harris was supposedly the border czar during the confused tenure of Joe Biden, and yet she not only never went to the actual border, but being border czar seemed to concern her less than most of us are concerned about where we left our toenail clippers. Every time she tried to answer a question or comment, she turned out a word salad that, even for committed Republican partisans, was just downright embarrassing. Even with prepared remarks and a teleprompter, she is about as articulate as a plate of beans making its way through someone's digestive tract.
Kamala Harris lost the 2024 election because she was the worst candidate for President of the United States in American history, and we should remember that this is an assemblage of people that counts Hillary Clinton among its members. We don't need any DNC election autopsy to figure that out.
The only really amazing thing is that 2024 wasn't another 1984-style landslide, but what we did get was close enough for government work.
