Candid Camera: CENTCOM Drone Catches Suspected Hamas Looting Humanitarian Aid Truck in Gaza

While Americans were celebrating Halloween, in Gaza, it was business as usual, including suspected Hamas operatives mobbing and looting a truck carrying humanitarian aid meant for Gazan civilians. A United States Central Command (CENTCOM) drone observed the theft of the truck and its contents. Watch:

The X post from CENTCOM's official account continues:

...delivering needed assistance from international partners to Gazans in northern Khan Younis.

The coordination center was alerted through video surveillance from a U.S. MQ-9 aerial drone flying overhead to monitor implementation of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.

Operatives attacked the driver and stole the aid and truck after moving the driver to the road’s median. The driver’s current status is unknown.

Over the past week, international partners have delivered more than 600 trucks of commercial goods and aid into Gaza daily. This incident undermines these efforts.

Nearly 40 nations and international organizations represented at the CMCC are working together to help flow humanitarian, logistical and security assistance into Gaza.

Much of this aid isn't getting where it's needed, in no small part because Hamas, being the predictable desert scorpions we know them to be, are almost certainly intercepting the aid and stealing it.

A look at the video is revealing. It shows the aid truck proceeding slowly through a crowded area, then cuts to what appears to be the same truck, stopped in an open area. A few figures wearing all black are nearby. Now, it's not clear what happens next, but at about 16 seconds in, one of the figures near the truck appears to point something at two others, standing on the median between the lane the truck occupies and a lane going the opposite direction. At about 22 seconds in, one of the figures on the median runs away from what now looks to be a body; the running figure then climbs into the truck, after which the truck starts to move.

The figure on the ground in the median does not move for the rest of the video. There's no indication who this person was or what his status is now, but knowing how Hamas operates, I think we can easily do the math.

Now, in the interests of fairness, we might note that we only have, literally, a 30,000-foot view of these events. We don't know that these are Hamas operatives, but we might draw some reasonable conclusions from the location and the people we know to be in the area. It looks like what it looks like, and what it looks like is like a hijacking, with serious results for someone, the person left in the median, presumably the driver of the truck.

The question is, how many aid trucks are being taken in this fashion? Is anyone doing anything to stop this?

It's as I've been saying and writing for some time: There will be no peace in Gaza until Hamas is no longer a factor.
