Had Enough Yet? Twice Deported Illegal Alien Rapist Nabbed by ICE

David Cabrera is a real piece of work. A Guatemalan national, Cabrera has entered the United States illegally at least three times. He initially snuck into the United States in 2014, during the Obama administration. He was convicted of felony rape in 2015 and sentenced to 7 years in prison, but was released to ICE and deported in 2017. He snuck back in again at some point - when is not clear - and was arrested for a parole violation and sent back to Guatemala again in 2020, under the first Trump administration.

At some point, he snuck back in for a third time. Now, this year, he was picked up again - and, despite having an ICE detainer, was set free by the "sanctuary" jurisdiction of Arlington County, Virginia, forcing ICE agents to pick him up on the street.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons blasted the release, telling Fox News it puts agents and the public at risk.

"This is the whole reason why sanctuary jurisdictions do not keep America safe," Lyons said. "It lets criminals back on the street to reoffend again. If Arlington had cooperated, we could have arrested him in a secure facility — instead, our agents had to track him down in the community, where they could have encountered others."

Arlington’s 2022 trust policy allows police to comply with state and federal law — but restricts voluntary detainer holds and information-sharing with ICE unless required by law.

So, Arlington County let a convicted rapist, an illegal alien, loose to roam the streets - a guy who has illegally entered the United States no fewer than three times.

"You have an individual that is the worst of the worst, someone convicted of rape, and we had the opportunity to deport him. We did deport him… and they don’t want to turn that individual over the right way," Lyons said.

"Here you have an aggravated felon that’s been deported multiple times… and Arlington County is releasing him back into the community. To reoffend again. It’s just not right and it doesn’t keep the public safe."

That's something of an understatement.

Immigration Enforcement Gets Serious: ICE Policy Changes From 'Catch and Release' to 'No Bond Permitted'

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that David Cabrera shouldn't be given another trip back to Guatemala. At least, not right away. 8 U.S. Code § 1325, "Improper entry by alien," states in part (highlight added):

Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.

That's two years right there - one would hope for each count, meaning four years, in addition to whatever any parole violation would add to the time this goblin will spend looking at prison bars from the wrong side. Then, and only then, should he be placed on a repatriation flight.

This legacy of the Biden years, this fuzzy-headed nitwittery from "sanctuary" jurisdictions, has to be brought to a screeching halt. Not only are these sanctuary policies as dumb as a bag of hammers inside a larger bag of wet hair, but they also endanger the community by letting people like David Cabrera wander free. They also endanger the ICE agents who, instead of being able to quickly and easily take custody of goblins from the local authorities, have to go out on the streets and hunt them down.

Look at David Cabrera, folks. He is the face of everything that was wrong with the Biden administration's lack of enforcement of immigration law, and he is the face of the failure of "sanctuary" policies.

Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
