They're trying it again.
In the latest attempt by the Harris/Biden administration to head off Donald Trump in one of the areas where Trump holds a significant lead — illegal immigration — the administration would have us believe that they are putting in another "crackdown" on the southern border, following Kamala Harris's brief-to-the-point-of-absurdity visit to the region.
The Biden administration said Monday it is making asylum restrictions at the southern border even tougher, as it’s increasingly eager to show voters uneasy over immigration that it is taking a hard stance on border security.
The new rules, which toughen restrictions announced in June, bar migrants from being granted asylum when U.S. officials deem that the southern border is overwhelmed.
Under the previous rules, the U.S. could restrict asylum access when the number of migrants trying to enter the country between the official border crossings hit 2,500 per day. The daily numbers had to average below 1,500 per day for a week in order for the restrictions to be lifted.
The version rolled out Monday says the daily numbers will have to be below 1,500 for nearly a month before the restrictions can be lifted. And the administration is now counting all children toward that number, whereas previously only migrant children from Mexico were counted.
The first and obvious question that comes to mind is this: "What's being done about the millions of people who are already in the country illegally? What measures are you taking to determine who these people are, where these people are, what they are doing, and why they are doing it?"
Of course, we already know the answer: A vacant stare.
Look, there's nothing to this other than a transparent campaign ploy. Kamala Harris has no intention of controlling the nation's borders, and never will. This is no "Nixon goes to China" moment. It's a transparent piece of fakery, the longest in a long line of transparent pieces of fakery; fakery is the only thing that the Harris/Biden administration is any good at. That's hardly a glowing recommendation.
The reality is this: The Harris/Biden administration is still allowing illegal immigrants to come into the country in the thousands, daily. They continue to make use of phone apps and so forth to ease the process. Their immigration policy proposals are primarily focused on expediting entry, not preventing entry. Kamala Harris has no intention of enforcing the border, and Joe Biden has apparently forgotten that there is a border.
The claim by the Harris campaign that Kamala Harris would, as president, clamp down on the border is pure corral litter, suitable only for fertilizer.

Don't buy it — they don't mean it. In this, the Harris/Biden administration is a lot like Bullwinkle trying to pull yet another rabbit out of a hat — "This time for sure!" Bullwinkle/Biden tries yet again to pull the trick off; he fails; Rocky/Kamala attempts a deflection to distract from the latest failure.
The only flaw in the comparison is that either Bullwinkle or Rocky the Flying Squirrel are far better suited to be President of the United States than either Joe Biden or Kamala Harris.
