When I was a not-so-young Second Lieutenant (not so young because of prior enlisted time) in my first unit, I had an office I shared with my platoon sergeant; we had two big gray, steel government desks that faced each other. This being some years ago, we each had an ashtray, we each had a blotter, I had a copy of "Murphy's Laws of Combat" hanging on the wall and we each had two baskets for paperwork, marked "IN" and "OUT."
After a few weeks, I decided we needed a third basket, which I obtained from Supply. The third basket was for crap that I didn't want to deal with right away for one reason or another, and it was marked "TOO HARD." It drew a few narrowed gazes from my company commander, as well as the battalion commander, but I guess I was doing a good enough job otherwise to get away with it.
That last sentence pretty much sums up my military career.
The Biden administration, we see thanks to some on-the-spot reporting by Fox News's Bill Melugin, has created a "TOO HARD" basket for entire categories of illegal immigrants:
NEW: @FoxNews has obtained an internal Border Patrol memo sent to agents in San Diego sector after President Biden’s executive order took effect, instructing them to release single adults from all but six countries in the eastern hemisphere & classifying them as “hard” or “very… pic.twitter.com/OaSLSYbuC1

Mass releases we witnessed just days ago, after the Biden order was in effect. https://t.co/VaCMxYDtvJ

Melugin writes:
Specifically, the memo instructs agents to process all single adults from 100+ countries in the eastern hemisphere as NTA/OR, which means “Notice to Appear/Release on Own Recognizance”, except for six countries which are deemed “mandatory referral” countries (Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Georgia, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan).
Not Iran? Not Iraq? Not Syria? He continues:
President Biden & DHS promised consequences & removal for those who cross illegally between ports of entry after the executive order took effect - but the overwhelming majority of illegal crossers in San Diego sector, including the Chinese, Middle Eastern, & African adults we’ve been showing, are still being released into the U.S. with future court dates, as our coverage has shown repeatedly with Border Patrol mass releases at a trolley station in San Diego.
So one thing remains obvious: Catch and release is still the order of the day for illegal immigrants flooding across our southern border.

But here's the part I don't get from Melugin's report:
In a background call with reporters, DHS officials acknowledged the difficulty of removing illegal immigrants from eastern hemisphere countries, as some governments won’t cooperate with U.S. repatriation flights/travel documents & won’t take their citizens back.
First of all: Do any of these countries receive foreign aid from the United States? It seems likely, as there don't seem to be many nations in the world that are not the beneficiaries of American largesse. So, why is the president not getting on the blower with the leaders of these nations, and telling them, "Nice influx of American dollars you have there, Mr. (insert political title here). You wouldn't want anything to happen to it, would you? You don't? Then let's talk about these people of yours who keep trying to cross our southern border. Yeah, those you said you wouldn't take back."
Either that or just stick the illegal on a flight home with a one-way ticket, with maybe a U.S. Marshal to make sure they get on the plane at our end and off at the other. What happens to them after that isn't our problem. Heartless? Maybe, but I'm more concerned about American security than the well-being of people who shouldn't be here in the first place.
That should apply, by the way, to all the people who are trying to get in illegally.
Not all that long ago the Biden administration ballyhooed its "actions on the border," which was supposed to make some kind of difference. It clearly has not. The influx continues, people from all over the world are being hand-waved in, and catch and release remains the Democrat Party's policy. We should also remember that a large number of these illegal immigrants are military-aged men, which makes this a serious national security issue.
We're talking young, healthy, military-aged men from the Middle East, Africa, and China, among other places; and to take another tap on that drum I keep beating, we don't know who many of them are, where they intend to go, or what they intend to do when they get there. This is nothing less than a serious dereliction of duty on the part of the Biden administration, and sooner or later, something catastrophically bad is liable to happen because of this weakness.
