As RedState reported earlier this week, Virginia's brand new governor, Democrat Abigail Spanberger, is nearly underwater in the first approval ratings of her administration. She is clocking a +1 percent net approval only two-and-a-half months into her tenure, whereas her predecessors – both Republicans and Democrats alike – were pulling +15 percent or higher at the same exact point in their governorships.
The question, then, is why is she polling so low after beating Republican Winsome Sears by 15 percent back in November? That's a pretty dramatic drop in support amongst voters, and the question of what happened is only partially answered by Spanberger's pretending to be a moderate during the campaign. Let's be honest, there's really no such thing as a moderate Democrat anymore.
