The official announcement was made on Usha Vance's X account.

“We’re very happy to share some exciting news. Our family is growing!” the post read. “Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy. Usha and the baby are doing well, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.”

The statement continued: “During this exciting and hectic time, we are particularly grateful for the military doctors who take excellent care of our family and for the staff members who do so much to ensure that we can serve the country while enjoying a wonderful life with our children.”

The announcement was greeted with lots of congratulations and good wishes, including from the very top, with the White House X account chiming in with a cheeky tweet: "The most pro-family administration in history!"

There were the inevitable posts by jokesters, of course.

Tuesday's announcement, it turns out, is not just exciting, it's also historic

No vice president has previously had a child while in office, making this a historic moment for the second family. The Vances expressed gratitude for the support from military medical staff and White House personnel that allows them to balance public service with family life.

News of the pregnancy comes after Usha Vance revealed on a podcast last year that she had dealt with anemia during at least one of her previous pregnancies.

Her husband has spoken throughout his political career about the need for Americans to have more babies, telling the 2025 March for Life, "I want more babies in the United States of America. I want more happy children in our country, and I want beautiful young men and women who are eager to welcome them into the world and eager to raise them."

Last year was almost certainly a challenging one for the couple as they adjusted to raising their young family in the DC fishbowl. The media made a hullabaloo out of nothing when the Second Lady was spotted without her wedding ring, leading some to speculate that the marriage was in trouble. Nonsense, said Mrs. Vance's office:

A spokeswoman for @SLOTUS is pushing back on speculation about her and the @VP's marriage after she was spotted this week not wearing her wedding ring. Usha Vance is "a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes," the spokeswoman told @dcexaminer.

This isn't the only recent baby news to come out of the Trump White House. In December, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced she and her husband are expecting a baby girl in May.

It's a White House baby boom!

The Vances, who married 2014, are parents to three children: sons Ewan, born in 2017, and Vivek, born in 2020, and daughter Mirabel, born in 2021. No word so far on how the big brothers and soon-to-be big sister reacted to the news of their new baby brother.
