Danica Patrick is used to going against the grain, first as a female NASCAR driver and now as one of the few famous faces who is willing to go public with their support for Donald Trump. In fact, Patrick is so all-in on Trump that he will receive her first-ever presidential vote.

That's right, Patrick has never cast a vote before, as she told Fox News' Jesse Watters on the Monday edition of his show, "Jesse Watters Primetime." She said it wasn't something she was proud of, but she had been focused solely on driving for so long that she "didn't really have the time or energy to understand politics." Things changed for her recently, though: "I went from not watching the news for the past six years to, basically, since the start of the year, that's all I watch."

So, what happened to move Danica Patrick from political onlooker to outspoken activist? Charlie Kirk is what happened. She shared how it all went down:

"Last December – I'm sure your viewers are probably familiar with Charlie Kirk – he put on a really big event here in town, in Phoenix, called AmFest. Tucker spoke, Trump, Jr. spoke, Vivek spoke, there were so many great speakers. And I posted some pictures afterward – and it was all very red, white and blue – and I basically just said, "I love this country."

Naturally, a celebrity who has nice things to say about Charlie Kirk, AmFest, and the MAGA crowd is going to get absolutely pummeled by the media, and that's exactly what happened to Danica Patrick. That didn't scare her at all, however, even though she was bemused by the left's insistence that "Make America Great Again" is somehow an insult. RedState readers will surely agree with that sentiment.

Since her political awakening last year, Patrick has used her platform and her unique position of having participated in a male-dominated sport to call attention to the insanity of letting biological men compete in women's sports. She's having none of it:

"I was a girl in a guy's sport. There are some true hormonal physiological reasons why men should not compete in women's sports. When it comes to strength, when it comes to power, size, those things are really different. Men have at least 10 times the testosterone that women do, which is something that helps build lean muscle mass and gives you size and mass and power, it's totally unfair."

Patrick really irked the folks over at Newsweek when she recently posted a "Testicle Injuries in Women's Sport" chart that hilariously pointed out the folly of the whole thing. This kind of passionate stance for women is sure to keep on annoying the media, who'd prefer to see real women like Danica Patrick just shut up.

But she's not cowed by the haters on the left and is now using her platform to endorse Donald Trump:

"I think that he has a great sense of humor," she began. "I think that he is a man amongst the people. I feel like when you wrap that up with the humility that he has, the sense of humor that he has, the off-the-cuff confidence that he has. His ability to go so unscripted and be in so many scenarios where he has to essentially be himself, it’s pretty much all of them. That’s not just something you see from the other side, which I think is one of the most endearing and important qualities about him is that he is just being him."

When it comes down to it, here's why Danica Patrick is casting her first-ever presidential vote for Donald Trump: "I am passionate because it feels like voting for Donald Trump is like the vote of reason. The rational, reasonable choice."
