Mysterious Drone Swarms Plague Major B-52 Base Housing Nuclear Weapons - Met With a Yawn

For nearly a week, drone swarms of unknown origin rampaged across the skies over Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. Barksdale is the home of the Air Force Global Strike Command, which commands all manned bombers. and five B-52 bomber squadrons.

The appearances began on March 9 and initially prompted the issuance of a "shelter-in-place" order for the airbase.

According to the confidential briefing document dated March 15, the drones came in waves and entered and exited the base in a way that may suggest attempts to “avoid the operator(s) being located.” Lights on the drones suggested the operators “may be testing security responses” at the base.

“Between March 9-15, 2026, BAFB Security Forces observed multiple waves of 12-15 drones operating over sensitive areas of the installation, including the flight line, with aircraft displaying non-commercial signal characteristics, long-range control links and resistance to jamming,” the document said. “After reaching multiple points across the installation, the drones dispersed across sensitive locations on the base.”

The intrusions have not been reported in the open press since March 15; however, as they say, an absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

I'm sure a Chinese intelligence operative owning two golf courses abutting Barksdale AFB is totally unrelated.

A Chinese intelligence official owns twin golf courses flanking the U.S. Air Force headquarters that controls two legs of the U.S. nuclear triad, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation has discovered.

Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), which is responsible for all of America’s intercontinental ballistic missiles and nuclear bombers, is hosted by Barksdale Air Force Base near Shreveport, Louisiana. Approximately two miles to the north and south, the base is effectively bordered by The Golf Club At StoneBridge and its 27-hole, 340-acre sister, Olde Oaks Golf Club.

In October 2024, I posted about a similar incursion of drone swarms over sensitive installations in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Now that the area is under communist control, it isn't as big a deal as it was then, but still, it establishes a pattern of drones belonging to an entity outside the U.S. government swarming highly sensitive facilities and the U.S. military failing to take any action to either arrest the perpetrator or knock down the drones.

Barksdale is home to most of the B-52s, with the remainder being stationed at Minot AFB (Minot? Why not!) North Dakota. The B-52s flying missions over Iran are based at Barksdale AFB. The USAF headquarters that provides the B-1B and B-2 bombers to U.S. Central Command to pummel the ayatollahs and their IRGC thugs is at Barksdale AFB.

This is deadly serious. In June 2025, Ukrainian drones secreted inside tractor-trailers destroyed over a third of Russia's strategic bomber fleet and effectively erased them from flying missions against Ukraine; see Massive Ukrainian Drone Attack Deletes a Third of Russia's Bomber Fleet and Sends a Warning to the US – RedState. The idea that our bomber fleet is impervious to such an attack is ludicrous.

Despite the war in Ukraine being underway for four years, a war characterized by the use of drones for offensive action, I'm not seeing any signs that the U.S. military is taking the drone threat to rear area targets seriously. Since the war with Iran started, the U.S. military and its allies have lost at least ten missile defense radars to Iranian drones. Had the drone threat been taken seriously enough to post a couple of guys with shotguns loaded with #4 shot at each site, these losses could have been avoided. A significant number of the U. S. casualties, which now stands at 13 dead and at least 232 wounded, have been the result of drone attacks on facilities far from the front lines. Again, hardening vulnerable logistics and support units against a very predictable threat might have prevented some of these casualties.

If we try to open the Strait of Hormuz with ground forces, then, for the first time, U.S. units will come up against suicide drones. We had better be prepared.

For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
