Saturday, the left launched a psyops campaign that alleged President Trump was dead. The basis of the rumor was that President Trump's public schedule showed no events over, wait for it, Labor Day weekend. That rumor was soon put to rest as my colleague, the indefatigable Sister Toldjah, posted, by Trump himself; see 'Haters Hopes Dashed': Lincoln Project-Fueled Rumor That Trump Is Unwell or Dead Gets Nuked From Orbit – RedState.
That rumor seems to have been fueled by the Lincoln Project. The Lincoln Project is a virulently anti-Trump organization that has been plagued by scandal and infighting since its co-founder, John Weaver, was forced out for sending "unsolicited and sexually provocative messages online to young men, often while suggesting he could help them get work in politics, according to interviews with 21 men who received them."
"His solicitations included sending messages to a 14-year-old, asking questions about his body while he was still in high school and then more pointed ones after he turned 18."
Weaver was married with children as he sexually harassed these young men.
It was also involved in a campaign to unseat Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in 2021 with the same success it had experienced in defeating Donald Trump.
The whole "Trump is dead" story is just part of a larger project to raise doubts about Trump's health and to attempt to create divisions within Trump's inner circle over who is the rightful inheritor of the MAGA enterprise. In a post in The Daily Beast headlined Conservative Strategist: ‘MAGA Hunger Games’ Taking Place as Trump Health Slips, Rick Wilson, disingenuously portrayed as a "conservative strategist," makes this claim.
Conservative political consultant Rick Wilson says a “MAGA Hunger Games” is playing out in Washington as President Donald Trump, 79, shows his age.
Wilson said “rumors from the Trumpverse” indicate that Vice President JD Vance is “moving fast” in this shuffling of power behind the scenes, positioning himself to take over the MAGA movement sooner rather than later, according to Wilson’s Substack.
“Slow or fast, he’s headed down,” Wilson said of Trump. “The circle who knows what’s up is very, very small and very, very paranoid. JD Vance knows, and he’s moving fast.”
The evidence for Trump's failing health is:
Trump’s severely swollen ankles have been photographed repeatedly this summer, and he has struggled to walk in a straight line on multiple occasions. He also has sported severe bruising on both of his hands, which he has attempted to conceal with a copious amount of makeup.
The White House announced in July that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that occurs when leg vein valves fail, causing blood to pool, and is supposedly why Trump now has cankles. As for his hand bruising, the White House claimed it was a result of repeated hand-shaking paired with the taking of aspirin, though that does not explain why the bruising appears on both hands.
This health sleuthing is sort of charming given the way The Daily Beast attacked any video or image of Biden's decrepitude as AI-generated, fake, or out of context.
You can't watch President Trump and not realize he's a very healthy guy. He doesn't fall up airplane stairs or wander about on stage. To date, he hasn't crapped his drawers like Biden did while meeting the Pope. (The same people who claimed Biden was lucid and in charge claim the story is false; take that for what it's worth.) The health rumors have been kicking around since about the time President Trump took office, and they don't look very credible.
In my view, the only person in Trump's administration who has the credibility to assume leadership of the populist MAGA movement is JD Vance. Moreover, I don't see anyone making a move to create a populist narrative for themselves. For all of Wilson's exotic comments about a "Hunger Games" environment going on behind the scenes, we don't see senior people leaving the administration. Plus, should President Trump become incapacitated, the Constitution is pretty clear on who is next in line, and I'm personally convinced that President Trump has enough pride that he wouldn't attempt to continue in power with the aid of a taxidermist.
If such a power vacuum did exist behind the scenes, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be getting informed of it by The Lincoln Project.
